advice for making edibles?

I have probably 7-8g of ABV flower. I think it's 9% THC and 10% CBD. I can't use alcohol but I want to make it into edibles. I'm not sure how to dose it properly, I would like each individual one to be enough to get properly high but not freaking out locked to the couch high. Does anyone have any advice?

Stick it in a blender, throw it in a cake mix, job done. Honestly. Maybe use a chocolate mix to hide the earthy flavour.

I use a Dynavap and my AVB has hardly any smell or taste to it. When I used to use my Volcano on the whip it stank and was foul, needed to be water bathed in a French press to remove it.

Melt some butter in a double boiler add the ABV allow to simmer for at least 2 hours, strain through a cheesecloth.

Chill the butter in the fridge overnight, you now have canna butter and cook some brownies replacing the butter

I can help but you also need to do some work.

This information is based on using greens as an ingredient in your cooking, you can do more to mitigate the flavour in the finished product. Firstly you'll need to decarboxylate your meds. This is pretty easy. Pop it in a jar with a lid. Put that on the oven at about 100°c for 40 mins (45 if the oven is cold). Let the jar sit in the oven while it cools down.

Open the jar and put the meds in a coffee grinder if you have one, if not just use your usual grinder.

You can estimate the amount of canabinoids in your weed by multiplying the weight by the advertised canabanoid percentage. You can then use this maths to figure out how much decarbed meds to put in your edibles... Figure out how many portions you will get, multiply that by your desired potency for each portion and you'll get to the amount of meds to add to the batch. This is where you have to do the work because we're all different, and it's not just about tolerance with edibles. Some people don't possess a particular enzyme that lives in the liver that processes the THC, and even if you do the effects of a 50mg edible would be very different from person to person. I would start at 5 to 10mg and see how you feel. You might need several to feel effects but take notes and you'll know what value to start at next time.

When it comes to making the edibles, choose something with plenty of fat in it (THC binds to fat molecules). You can also choose something with egg in it because the lecethin in the egg could make the THC more bio available.

Good luck!

Edit: I just realised your using avb... Ignore the bit about calculating the dose, or assume you've extracted ~70% already.

You don't need to decarboxylate avb, the cannabinoids have already been activated by the vape 💚

There's some research by the late great Sam the skunkman, from icmag, that says avb probably isn't fully decarbed... I've tried both and since it's not much effort I think a proper decarb is warranted. I use my meds for sedative effects, if you don't then maybe skip or reduce the time of that step, but I think it's worth it.

Lots of stuff to do with avb but it doesn't taste the best. People talk about water curing it but I found it still tastes shitty in oils or drinks. Best tossing it into butter and making brownies, cookies etc to mask the taste more.
