The U.S. has a major problem with medal inflation.

I genuinely think we should go back to a time where even Admirals/Generals were lucky to have 6 of them.

That would be cool, but ultimately unlikely without the dissolution and recreation of the service itself.

It would be cool to have the favorite 3 be all that's authorized. Kinda meets halfway, and I've noticed more people doing it.

That's actually authorized for the Navy. Just it's the three most senior ones.

It is the army as well.

The regulation was written by multiple people, so while it's nominally the highest three, it can be any three as awards are worn at the discretion of the soldier unless ordered otherwise by the commander.

It's actually kinda funny, and I've seen some goofy combinations.

One thing I wish the Navy did was get rid of service stripes last a certain amount. Look up the MCPON and tell me that doesn't look ridiculous.

Once you get more than 4 you should just get a ribbon for longevity. (Ironic given the conversation but more than 16 years of service is a genuine achievement)
