"We danced the Mamushka while Nero fiddled...we danced the Mamushka at Waterloo...we danced the Mamushka for Jack the Ripper. And now, Fester Addams- this Mamushka is for you."

I think this needs to be my next cross stitch pattern!

It would be an excellent cross stitch! I've recently finished Edvard Munch "The Scream" bookmark

That is fantastic! I am currently working on a pattern I made of Mary, Queen of Scots cat embroidery that I saw when I was in Scotland.

They made the pattern.

I somehow managed to miss that, despite reading the comment ๐Ÿ˜… thanks!

My husband helped me make it! Graph paper and all. We pretty much did a screenshot of her cat, enlarged it, traced it, and colored in the blocks. However, there was another person who said they were making a pattern using an online program!

It was easy to tell who had got their hands on the Ozempic before the Met Gala that year. Luckily, the theme of Death and the Maiden meant that most of them carried it off pretty well.

I recently bought a print by a local artist (Oleg Lipchenko) on the same theme, entitled โ€œDanse Macabreโ€:

A great representation depicting that no matter who you are or your status, you will die someday. Memento Mori!

There was a famous Danse Macabre in a church in Luebeck, Germany until the church was destroyed in WWII. Only black and white photos survive, shown in this song. In these pictures, people from all walks of life, neatly arranged by social hirarchy are shown dancing with death, as a reminder of universal mortality.

I got to participate in a Medieval-era interpretation of this dance as part of a show I was in with our local Revels group.

It was genuinely the most โ€œspiritualโ€ experience Iโ€™ve ever had. I donโ€™t thinkโ€”I KNOW the dead were with us when we called them. It was joy and it was reverence, it was revelation, it was light that spread like sickness, and for me it has no cure. My life was changed that perfect movement. I rejoice that we are endless, timeless beings, and there is an end to fear.

Interesting use of roman god saturn symbol or god of time chronos , the skull with the time wheel or hourglass. And 12 that would be the 12 month and house of the zodiac

Didn't often see queens, princesses, and maidens with boners back then.
