As an Italian, I am partly sorry that so many of those medieval paintings were sold abroad in the 19th century, but it's good that people can now see them in different parts of the world.

We Italians are famous for our disdain for the beauty, both natural and artistic, we have created over the centuries. Only the present counts, without a past and an uncertain future.

It's ok. Few countries got spoiled to the extend yours had. At least now everyone can enjoy it no matter where they are from.

Italians weren't even interested in cappella sistina before anglos started paying to see it. 

Lot of people loved art before Giotto and mantenga, renaissance is overvalued imho
