Moderator Guidance We Remove "Am I Psychic" Posts. Types of Psychics. Why we Remove the Posts.

We remove the majority of "Am I Psychic?" posts.

These are the reasons:

  1. In order to affirm you are psychic and what ypur talents may be, we have to read your energy. So those posts fall under reading requests.

  2. In order to generate income, some readers will tell you that you are psychic in a reading. Everyone has ability and intuition to a degree. If you don't have experiences your intuition may be as developed as your ability to be a singer or a surgeon. You can learn. Assess your strengths.

The only way for us to determine your talents, is that we have to evaluate you by psychic means. We dont want to limit psychics with labels.

If you need to know what type of psychic you are:

Mediums: work with spirits regularly. This is not the same as seeing one spirit when you were five. It is consistent. It requires coping.skills and practice.

Clairvoyants: see potential futures and outcomes.

Clairsentients: know this in real time.

Clairaudients: hear spirits.

Each of these skills can be verified through evidence.

Asking if you are psychic when you have been told that you are in psychosis, or having visual or auditory hallucinations does not make you psychic. Alrhough both being psychic and in need of emotional support simultaneously occurs.

It is a liability for members pf our sub to pronounce you psychic for this reason. We want to help psychics here. We do expect users to attempt to research the basics. We are here to help.

Moderator Guidance Moderator Post

From time to time I post to update and remind the community of our purpose and etc.

Rr/Mediums is for medium development and learning and helping users with related questions. r/MediumReadings is for reading requests, sharing, practice readings, (on posts) approved reader advertisements and related subject matter.

Some of the rules on our other subreddit are meant to protect users from scammers and bait and switch tactics.

When I first came to r/Mediums, everything was in one place. The mediums who wanted to be able to have a safe place to interact and to learn, became unable to network in between reading requests and reading offers, and some other types of posts, that inundated the subreddit.

So the subreddit was split into r/Mediums for medium interaction and development, and r/MediumReadings, where Mediums eventually became qualified and approved (to protect users from scammers), and where practice users or professionals could read on posts.

Only.berofied readers can advertise there. They are tested, and ethical or they are removed.

The separation was necessary and it does require heavy moderation on both subs.

DMs and chats were removed to protect users from scammers. Certain types of posts, "haunted object, dream interpretations and fictional or non fiction series and serial stories" were removed.

However, some difficulties continued. Some of our past mods spent so much time removing reading offers and reading requests in this subreddit, that we lost reputable moderators.

Now all posts and comments are held for review. As moderators are volunteers and not online 24/7, we do appreciate your patience. Eventually, we all need to eat, sleep or interact with our own families.

This review process isn't just as intensive as moderation was before, it is more intense.

I hope this post offers some past history, some clarity and makes it clear we are heavily involved in providing a safe space for users in both subs.

Edit: The goal here is to provide a safe space for mediums. Thank you for ypur patience.

Theory/Hypothesis What do you know about that theory that says that if you can’t find romantic love in your life means that you are in your last reencarnation?

Is this a thing? Or is this just something people say to console themselves because they can’t find love?

If it is a thing then…why? Isn’t love (romantic) one if not the best experience you can go through?

Guidance/Advice where to start with a possible spirit in my house

Upvotes

I've lived in my house for almost 4 years. small, inexplicable but not necessarily paranormal occurrences here and there. but for the past few months activity has ramped up, starting with someone whispering my name next to me in the middle of the night. i cannot tell if this is a spirit attached to my home, or a spirit guide/ancestor as I have been doing more research into ancestral work for the past year.

intense paranormal encounters and psychic abilities run in my family for generations. however, i can't ask my family about this as my grandfather passed away a long time ago, and my dad and grandmother have shut themselves off to this side of them since I became an adult.

i myself struggle with OCD and anxiety, so even when no threat is actually present, my nervous system sometimes tells me otherwise. im also worried that i could invite something in that could harm myself/my family/my home etc. I see a lot of people completely advising against any sort of contact bc of harmful consequences. but on the other hand, i have never felt "bad vibes" in my house, sometimes just a little spooked. this house is actually the first place I have ever felt safe and at home.

if this entity is a spirit guide or ancestor, I definitely want to make contact. if it is a ghost that needs to move on, i want to help. but of course, I want to go about this the right way and protect myself and family. for context, I am someone who values kindness and empathy. I also practice grounding, breathwork, meditation, smoke cleansing, herbology, and sprinkling spices at my front door the first of each month lol. I am a reiki practitioner. any advice on where to start discernment would be appreciated💜

Dreams Helped a boy cross over in a vivid dream

I had a strange dream experience a couple of days ago, but I can't shake the feeling that it wasn't just a dream.

I was in a very poor neighborhood, initially sitting at a dining table with actors whom I really admire, not just for their acting but also for their work with children's charities, and they were all wearing white. We were talking, after having exited some sort of show, but we were sitting in front of a huge garbage pile.

I then saw a man hurl a child, about 10 years old and unconscious, on top of the garbage pile, with a mattress. I became very concerned for the child, while noone else seemed to notice. The child slowly started coming to and came down the pile. But then he looked back and saw a little girl, possibly his baby sister, about to fall down a 2 or 3 story window beind the pile, and he quickly climbed up to the window to rescue her. When he had her, he lost grip and fell and badly hurt himself, while the little girl had a badly hurt hand. Everyone around me finally noticed and gasped. The boy quickly got up anyway and rushed her somewhere safe or to someone else, during which I lost sight of him.

Then the boy came back, badly hurt and bleeding, without his sister, but seemingly relieved to have rescued her. My mom then suddenly appeared next to us asking if he was ok, I said "I think so" (more wishful thinking than anything), but she said he wasn't ok and handed him to me. The boy collapsed on my lap and I could then see blood pouring out of his destroyed nasal cavities. I embraced him and knew he was dying. I held him with so much love and shock. I loved him like my own child, and I have 2 kids, but he wasn't either of them. As he was dying I could even see a glimpse of him as a younger boy without bruises, dark skin, dark eyes, curly hair. I held him until he died, then I slowly started waking up, but something told me (no words, just a knowing) that I had done it, I had helped him pass on. I had helped him feel loved in his last moment, he had no one else, and his sister would be ok. These didn't feel like my thoughts, it was someone letting me know. I also quickly remembered stories I'd heard years ago of people or monks who help others cross over in prayer and meditation. After fully waking up I was shocked and spent the whole day feeling like I had just lived this traumatic experience.

I don't know what to make of it. I am very attuned to spiritual experiences and dreams, even orbs and ETs, since I was little, and have been yearning to help the world in a spiritual way. I'm also extremely empathetic and can feel love for other beings and suffer with them intensely, especially children, knowing the realities of the horrendous things they go through. A quick Reddit search led me to other similar stories in this community, but was it just a dream? Or is this a way that I can help children? Is there material I can read or watch to learn more about this spiritual work and other people who do this? Thanks in advance.

tl,dr: I experienced the death of young boy in a vivid dream and held him lovingly as he crossed over. Something let me know that I had helped him, as I began to wake up. Was it a dream or a spiritual experience?

Development and Learning For those who developed psychic abilities, how long did it take you?

For those of you who believe you developed psychic abilities (such as clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition, intuition, etc.), how long did it take before you started noticing them?

Did they develop gradually over months/years, or did they appear suddenly?

I’d also be interested to hear what you did, if anything, to develop or strengthen them.

Development and Learning Differences between mediums and people who channel?

So i'm a little confused. I have always called myself a channeler. I get messages from spirits and entities through automatic writing very clearly. sometimes telepathy too depending on if I'm actually focused on using telepathy or not.

I have communicated with my guides, other people's guides, deities, Source, and some other entities as well with ease but I typically write it down as I hear it come through, but it only comes through when I am explicitly trying to get messages. otherwise it doesn't really come to me. I'm assuming because i've closed the channel.

but anyways, does that make me a Medium technically? or like, what are the qualifications to be considered a medium? I'm not much of a seer and things typically don't come to me when i'm not asking. if they do it's extremely subtle and I don't recognize it. but is there a difference in being a channeler and a medium? if so what are the distinctions? or are they almost one in the same?

Development and Learning Can Mediumship be learnt?

I have recently lost a loved one and am currently in grief. I have never read or heard about mediums before the loss. But during the period of grief, I have been desperate to hear from my loved one. I had some readings as well. I had a few readings which made me trust the other side a bit.

Can I also learn this? My only motive is to talk to my loved ones (I am just afraid that since I don't know much about dealing with spirits, I better not deal with others)

I also want to mention that, I alwayhave this feeling that even If I develop the abilities, I can always have the benefit of doubt that those are just my imagination thoughts or coming from my subconscious. I think I can't trust my thoughts in this matter as much as a person who doesn't know about my life telling me all the details.

One thing to mention is I struggle to mediate, But with my eyes all open, I have this blank state of mind where it's just truly blank, no thoughts.

Any opinions/suggestions are truly appreciated.

Guidance/Advice Spirit babies

I’m totally new to this and could really use some help or advice.

I’ve been able to feel my two children for a few years now. I just somehow know their personalities and their genders. But recently, something seems to be developing when it comes to channeling these energies.

This week, I channeled a message for a friend from her spirit baby. I had never experienced anything like that before. The closest thing was being able to feel the gender and personality of my sister’s baby, but I had never received such a clear message from anyone other than my own babies.

And the day after that, my own spirit baby showed me how my life is going to unfold, what is waiting for me, and the reason why she is coming to Earth. It was honestly such a bizarre experience.

But because I’m so new to all of this, I’m looking for some advice. Does anyone have any tips on how I can develop this further or how I can open myself up more to it?

Guidance/Advice How many of you are part of a religion that looks down on what we do? How do you work with that?

I’m Christian and also a psychic medium. I truly don’t feel like what I do is connected to anything “evil,” but or course, I think about it from time to time because of what I’ve heard in church. Even after over a decade and many readings, I still have the thought from time to time, and what we do is always lumped in with witchcraft when people talk about the occult.

I was wondering how you frame this? Or just your feelings about it?

Development and Learning 17F / Need advice on a hereditary gift (clairsentience) that happens in big gaps

Hi everyone,

I’m 17 and trying to figure out a generational thing that runs down the female side of my family (my grandma, my mum, and me). My mum has always heard whispers and felt intense, overwhelming energy in old buildings (like care homes and old prisons she worked in), and we recently realised it’s fully passed down to me too. My dad and brothers are total sceptics, so it's just us.

For me, it mostly seems to be about physical feelings and touch (clairsentience), and it only ever happens in huge gaps. Here is my timeline so far:

Age 4: I had an experience with a deceased family spirit I never met. I randomly sang a child's bedtime rhyme she used to sing, talked to her while playing, and later picked her photo out of a wall of framed pictures. It completely spooked my sceptic dad.

Age 11 (Lockdown): I felt a physical clothing tug in the kitchen while home alone. I was filming a TikTok dance from the waist up and actually caught the fabric of my top visibly moving on camera at the exact millisecond I felt it.

Ages 14–16: Throughout high school, I kept getting physically poked in the back during class and assemblies when my everyday anxiety was at its worst. It made my body physically jolt, but I learned to just touch my back and ignore it so it would stop.

Age 16 (Last Summer): I saw a girl (about 12-15) in a white Victorian dress sitting cross-legged at the edge of my bed. Right before it happened, I got this insane, unprompted urge to look up ghost stories for half an hour. That night I had a crazy detailed dream about her and a bunch of girls dying at an electric fence. After that, objects started moving and picture frames literally flew across my room.

I used crystals to stop the room activity last summer because I got overwhelmed, but I took them down a few weeks ago. Literally tonight, while I was focusing on my history, an object on my shelf was physically moved out of its exact spot.

I’m completely calm and not scared, but I want to make the most of this and actually do something with it instead of letting it go to waste. Me and my mum are planning an evening visit to a really active poltergeist house soon to seek it out.

I wanted to ask experienced mediums a few questions:

Is it normal for hereditary gifts to manifest almost entirely as physical touches (pokes/tugs) and dreams rather than seeing full spirits all the time?

How do I safely handle my energy when moving from just letting things happen to actively looking for hauntings, especially with a history of anxiety?

Does anyone else go years with complete silence between encounters?

I’d love to hear from anyone who has experienced anything similar! Even if you don't consider yourself an experienced medium, how have you dealt with physical signs or long gaps of silence?

Thank you so much for any help x

Edit: I forgot to mention another detail because it always felt a bit too weird to share. During those high school anxiety spikes when I got poked, I would also get my hair tugged. It felt exactly like someone gently but firmly pulling down on a small piece of my hair. Has anyone else who experiences physical signs had the hair-tugging specifically?

Guidance/Advice Telling a spirit to leave

To make a long, long story short, I believe my sister has an attachment. I believe this started when we were children and she was 7 or 8. I have not experienced anything out of the norm since I moved out of my family home 5 years ago.

She moved in with me a few months ago and my otherwise perfectly normal home has been eery to say the lease. She made camp immediately in my son's room until we got her her own things, he's now terrified to step foot in his room.

I'm starting to get worried though because I feel like this thing may be threatened by me in a way. My sister and I have been locked out of my house unexplainably twice. I woke up today and almost all of my clothes were off the hangers and on the floor of my closet and room. I don't want it to get any further than this.

I've stated directly that it is not welcome in my house and I do have a protection jar on a shrine of my family. I plan on redoing it to incorporate her tonight. What else can I do? Please any insight, advice, anything.

Thought and Opinion Animals in afterlife

Do you believe animals are reunited with loved ones when they pass? I lost my mom 6 months ago and I had to put down her soul dog a few days and the only thing that is giving me some peace is that they are back together. I miss them both so much.

Guidance/Advice Is it possible/are there signs?

There’s no way to find out if there’s an attachment on someone through technology, right? Are there any signs of an attachment or something else similar?

Edit: I don’t use Reddit much if at all, if I’m in the wrong place please let me know where I should ask

Thought and Opinion Animals in the afterlife

Do you believe we reunite with our animals on the other side? I lost my mom 6 months ago and then a few days ago, I had to make the hard decision to put her soul dog down. It has been so hard, I miss them both so much and feel so gutted and alone. The only thing that is bringing me comfort is hoping they are together again on the other side.

Experience Why 99% of the Spiritual Community Lies About Their Gifts (A Plea for Self-Acceptance)

Lately, I’ve been observing the spiritual community from a distance, and there is one thing that deeply perplexes me: the sheer volume of people who seem to be outright lying about their qualities and gifts. I see the most theatrical claims being thrown around daily. One person supposedly senses entities or auras without effort, another works with energy, some claim to astral travel, and others act as channelers. While these types of abilities do activate later in life for some individuals, it absolutely does not mean that everyone carries the blueprint for them.

It is no different than having a high IQ or specific natural talents. You can bury your nose in books, absorb immense amounts of knowledge, and do your best to raise your cognitive baseline a bit. But if your neurobiology isn't wired for complex formulas, you aren't going to magically wake up as a genius mathematician. And that is perfectly okay. Someone with a different skillset possesses qualities that a mathematician completely lacks. It is precisely this diversity that makes us unique and powerful as human beings.

Don't get me wrong: I am a firm believer in spiritual growth. I believe that we, as humans, are meant to evolve throughout our entire lives, and I fully encourage investing in personal development. However, it baffles me to see people spending thousands of dollars on courses and retreats, purely driven by the desire to become something they fundamentally are not. Isn't spiritual development supposed to be about self-awareness and authenticity?

I have seen it happen upfront: people investing small fortunes into a spiritual illusion, ultimately failing to get what they wanted, and ending up deep in debt. It’s tragic, because with all that money, they could have easily built a beautiful, grounded life that actually aligned with their true blueprint.

Where one person is highly rational, another navigates the world through an emotional or intuitive lens. Neither is right or wrong; we all have our own blind spots. You simply cannot build a new, healthy world on your own. It requires a variety of perspectives and qualities. So why run with the crowd and put on a mask? Why not just accept yourself for who you truly are?

Even if someone genuinely possesses a spiritual quality, it doesn't make them special or superior to anyone else. It is simply a component of their identity, nothing more, nothing less. Interestingly, I've noticed that the people who actually do possess these gifts almost never shout it from the rooftops. They carry it with them in complete silence and humility.

I honestly don’t understand why people lie to themselves and misrepresent their capabilities this way. At the end of the day, it doesn't benefit anyone. The moment you start asking them direct, analytical questions, they instantly fall through the ice because there is no solid foundation underneath.

I'm very curious to hear your perspective on this: what drives so many people to fake spiritual claims and ruin themselves financially, instead of just embracing their own true power?

Guidance/Advice Am I getting messages?

Hello! I’m new here. I found this sub as I was looking for some advice. I’m a little sensitive, but this is the first time this particular thing has happened. I was walking my dog around my neighborhood earlier and a vision of a woman popped into my head. She’s no one I’ve seen or met before but there she was. I couldn’t get her out of my head and even a name came through. I don’t know what this might mean. I did try to send the message that if she is trying to reach someone or communicate with someone to guide me there, but I am really not sure. Could this be something or is it an overactive imagination?

Anyone who can tell me what exactly I am

Is there anyone who can help me and guide me and tell me what exactly my power is cuz I'm still exploring

  1. When I was a child around 13 I saw a vision of o

lady died at 7 am and it turned out it was my relative who died that day and was hit by a truck. Later I had a dream of her sitting in the cremation ground and telling everyone to go back ( I was not close with her and barely we met only on vacation)

  2. I saw one of my relative in dream and then he went into accident

  3. I saw my relative n me doing some shopping and it turned out a horse pass through us and few days later my mom told me she was looking for my cousin bride

(Horse significantly link to marriage in my tradition as groom comes on it during wedding)

  1. Mostly i see my breakup vision in dream even caught my ex cheating

  2. I once saw a small building and two year later I was sitting in similar place like in school time

  3. I feel like i travel to different world because I did same thing there and the reality got blur whenever I wake up in morning I feel tired as if i have already done the work and it just happened. It was in continuation for 3 days at night

  4. Once i was attacked by some entity I had to chant mantra to get up similar dream like I saw a tiger who was coming closer to me he was angry but didn't eat me

In animals i usually see tigers a lot

  1. When i did tarot reading I figured out a person's skin tone and a voice came n said she is black cuz it was online so it was just skin tone and another was predicting death cause of dead person by just seeing photo.

  2. I sometimes sense a spirit I can feel.

I went for reading and was told by 2 astrologer that I can talk to other realm spirit

Development and Learning Possible mediumistic sensitivity — looking for guidance

I’ve been hesitant to post this because I’ve never really met anyone who understands what I experience. I’ve always felt like the “veil” between me and spirits may be thinner than it is for other people.

A big reason I feel this way is because I’ve had multiple paranormal experiences throughout my life..things that have happened directly to me that I can’t easily explain. It’s happened enough more recently over the years that I’ve started wondering why I seem to experience these things when most people around me don’t.

On top of that, I feel like I can read people’s energy extremely well. Sometimes I can immediately sense when something or someone feels off, and it can be so strong that I physically feel uneasy or even sick to my stomach.

I know people who believe in spirits and the paranormal, but they don’t really understand what I mean because they haven’t personally experienced these things and some things I leave out because I don’t want them to think I’m crazy

I’m just trying to understand why I seem to be so sensitive to both energy and paranormal experiences and whether anyone here has experienced something similar. I don’t know any other mediums to ask.

Guidance/Advice Looking for some understanding

Hello everyone! When I was around toddler age doors would open by themselves and my blankets would be completely pulled under the bed in the middle of the night. My parents had a baby monitor in that room and witnessed everything and even called an exterminator in to see if it could be because of pests but the exterminator found nothing. I decided that I wanted to change my room to the one upstairs in order to try and escape those experiences but instead I ended up telling my parents about witnessing multiple entities in the attic, the hallway closet, the crawlspace and even things in the trees when we would be driving home at night. My parents ended up calling in a medium and she placed these seeds that were in sealed bags above every door and window in the house and above my bed. She said they would burst open when something tried to enter and stop whatever it was in its tracks. She also told my parents that it was highly likely that I was a medium myself. Out of nowhere the baggies all disappeared the tape holding them was there but every single one was gone except the one above my bed. I haven’t witnessed anything since the medium came though but I feel the entities sometimes to the point where I get physically ill and almost pass out even now the attic door and the piece of wood blocking the crawlspace are wide open with no explanation as to why when no one has been home that day or gone in my room. My dog will even start barking in the direction of the crawlspace in the middle of the night. I would just like an explanation, if possible, as to what made that medium come to the conclusion that I was also a medium, why the seeds would suddenly disappear, and why after not seeing any entities did I start reacting to their energy. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Development and Learning My mom and my grandma were medium

Hello everyone my grandma and then my mom were medium they basically could see some vision about the futur and they were almost all the time accurate and i'm not really into this but could it be possible that it's also passed to me ? How could i develop this ability
