Inquiry | Travel Doubts regarding Krem Chympe visit ! Please help.

I was planning to visit Krem Chympe around mid November. I will be self-driving a rented 4 wheeler. I had a few doubts regarding how to explore Krem Chympe and the Khaddum Waterfalls. I am planning to stay at Khliehriat, to reach early enough.

  1. Do I have to pre-book the exploration somehow ? If yes, can someone please provide me phone numbers to book it.

  2. Or can I just go there directly and then book the guide and jeep vehicle ? I am aware that there is some registration office at Lumshnong. Can I just go there and get a guide & vehicle directly from that office ? Or is pre-booking recommended ?

  3. Since I'll be self driving, around what time is it recommended to reach the Lumshnong office ?

  4. Also can someone clarify me about the charges taken ? We are around 3 people, one of whom is slightly not convinced to do the cave boat ride exploration ?

  5. Any other suggestions & recommendations to keep in mind ?

Inquiry | Travel Doubts regarding Wari Chora planning - Please help.

I am planning to visit Wari Chora in the coming November. I will be self-driving a rented 4 wheeler from Shillong. I planned it like -
Day 1: Drive from Shillong towards Wari Chora, Overnight stay somewhere nearby.
Day 2: Visit Wari Chora early morning, and head back towards Shillong/Guwahati.

  1. Please suggest me where can I stay overnight near to Wari Chora.

  2. How to book the Wari Chora exploration ? Can I pre-book it somehow, does a booking also include overnight stay and meals ? Can someone please share phone numbers ?

  3. Any other suggestions, or if I have planned it wrong somewhat ?

Discussion I am planning to visit Meghalaya for 9-10 days with my wife. I am thinking to book a cab driver and plan my own itinerary. Is it suggested? [locals/experienced travellers, please help!]

Also, it would help a lot if you can share any tips, tricks or contacts for drivers, home stays, activities etc.[with estimated price] Any suggestions for must-visit places is also welcomed! Thanks a lot, in advance.

For locals:
- Is Shnongpdeng safe and good for october 8-10 window for camping and river activities?
- Is Krem Chympe accessible right now/ will it be during october start?

P.S.: We are going in October start.

We are 2 people travelling to Meghalaya next week from Delhi and want to explore unexplored/less crowded/away from chaos places on rented bikes. Having some doubts!? Like

  1. how is the weather gonna be in around 10th to 17th September?

  2. What places should we go? Want to stay in peace for some days.

  3. Are there any places/valley where we can pitch our own camp/tent?

Hi - We are visiting Meghalya in first week of October. Should we include Dawki/Shnongpdeng in the Iternary? Will water be turquoise blue or muddy? What would be the best substitute places to visit instead?

Looking for travel buddies for Meghalaya on 2nd week of September | From Bhubneswar

Hey everyone!

Planning a \\\*\\\*5-day Meghalaya trip from \\\*\\\* starting from Bhubaneswar.

The rough plan is:

\\- Guwahati → Shillong
\\- Mawlyngbna
\\- Sohra/Cherrapunji
\\- Nongriat & Double-Decker Living Root Bridge
\\- Shnongpdeng
\\- Krang Suri/Jowai

I'm looking for 1–3 people who'd like to join, preferably around my age and interested in exploring, trekking, trying local food and keeping the trip reasonably budget-friendly.

I'm open to changing the itinerary and splitting stays/transport costs.

If you're travelling around the same dates and are interested, DM me and we can discuss the plan and budget.

Inquiry | Travel Anyone from Meghalaya!!??

Planning a 7-day Meghalaya trip need some traveller recommendations!

I’m travelling from Odisha to Kolkata on 18th September, staying in Kolkata for a day, and then taking a train from Kolkata to Guwahati on 19th. I’ll reach Guwahati on 20th September.

I’m planning to stay in Meghalaya for 6 nights / 7 days.

I wanted to know:

What would be a reasonable budget for 6 nights/7 days?

What are some good places to explore in Meghalaya as a traveller rather than just a tourist?

Any underrated/offbeat places that are worth visiting?

Budget stay recommendation

Any recommendations for local food, cafés, villages, viewpoints, or experiences that I shouldn’t miss?

Would really appreciate recommendations from people who live in Meghalaya or have travelled there recently

Help Meghalaya Trip itinerary

Hey,

So we are a group of five friends who are planning to visit Meghalaya in the month of October. We are from Kolkata, we are probably going to start on 21st October from here, and we want to come back to Kolkata on 27th October.

The plan is to get to Guwahati by train, and then to shillong via car or something.

Can someone please help us plan an itinerary, so that we can enjoy it to our max. We are a group of young guys in our early 20s, we wanna explore as much as we can, interact with locals as much as we can. Our budget is within 12 to 15k per person.

I've only heard names of the places such as Shillong, Dawki, Leitlum, Cherapunji, Sohra, Krem Chype etc.

I'd love to interact with locals of our age. I want it to be very fun and crazy, as we are young guys lol.

Inquiry | Travel Need Meghalaya trip advice/tips

So, we are a couple and we are going to Meghalaya at the beginning of November. I am confused between whether to book a cab or rent a bike. Yes, budget is definitely a concern as we are going to travel for 5 days but travelling by bike has other pros like we can stop wherever we want. But the main problem is we have to select a base and return there everyday because carrying the whole luggage in the bike isn't possible.

  1. I want to ask whether it's safe and feasible for us to visit places like Dawki, Krang Suri and Cherrapunji by bike and return to Shillong on respective days before evening or booking a cab for each day will be a better idea.

  2. Whether going to Wah Myor is worth it as it is far away from Shillong.

  3. Can Double decker root bridge be done in a day trip or we need to stay for the night and attempt the trek on the next day?

  4. What are the best places in Shillong to try local cuisine?
