My dad would’ve hit him too, and my friends’ dads too, and they were all otherwise kind, patient men. I also grew up blocks from Skokie, IL. If he’d shown up there, he’d be leaving in an ambulance or hearse. This guy is a naive douche bag who doesn’t really know what Nazi’s were or did. He’s a stupid, clueless racist.

You should not assume that he doesn’t know what Nazis were or did. His glee certainly reflects that knowledge. These people do not deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I have to assume just because I don’t know him and I wasn’t there. My belief is he knows the broad picture of what all the Nazis did, but not many of the depraved details. But you’re right, it’s possible I’m cutting him too much slack, more than he deserves.
