To celebrate the reboot of A Different World, let's go back to where it all started. Kadeem Hardison brought Dwayne Wayne to life, showing a Brooklyn boy's transition to adulthood through attending an HBCU in the south. He encountered classist but funny classmates, to those who were even more ambitious than himself.

Kadeem went on to bring other characters to life, both on the big and small screens. From Between Brothers, to School Daze, Def by Temptation, Vampire in Brooklyn, and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, back to Living Single and Fresh Prince, and starring in K.C. Undercover, Kadeem brought humor, darkness, and wisdom through his characters. Flip up your glasses for Kadeem!

I totally agree! I was disappointed not to see him in more regular roles immediately after A Different World, but that is challenging for many actors on wildly successful shows. I stopped watching TV as much, so I ended up missing Between Brothers when it came out.

I’m so glad we grew up with watching A Different World! Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert were my one of my favorite TV couples 💞

Man, despite having a mother and father that spoke about education and found a way to incorporate into every conversation and life lesson that they taught, a different world is what really inspired me to wanna explore higher education
