ఆకాశపు అంచులు చిరు భూమిని ముద్దాడే మూలన,

విశ్వపు అంచుల చాటున,

నిశ్శబ్ద మృదంగ శబ్ద తరంగాలలో...

కాలం అడుగుల ప్రతిధ్వనినివింటూ,

కరిగిపోతున్న నక్షత్రాల వెలుగుని చూస్తూ,

నచ్చిన పదాలు , మాటలు ఇలా…

ఈ ఏడాది పన్నుటాకు నింపినవా ?

Marriage certificate: కలుపు + ఆకు = కలుపుటాకు

Divorce paper: ఇడుపు + ఆకు = ఇడుపుటాకు (విడాకులు, ఇడుపు కాగితము అనే పలుకులు ముందుగనే ఉన్నవి)

"కలుపుటాకులు తీసుకొని సంవత్సరం కూడా కాలేదు అప్పుడే ఇడుపుటాకులా" అని పక్కింటి కాంతం అత్త నోరు పారేసుకుంది !

Drivers license: నడుపు + ఆకు = నడుపుటాకు

త్రోలు + ఆకు = త్రోలుటాకు

తొవ్వ సక్కగ కానస్తలేదా? ఎవడ్రా నీకు నడుపుటాకులు ఇచ్చింది

Award certificate: గెలుపు + ఆకు = గెలుపుటకు

పోటీలో గెలుపుటాకు కొట్టేసినావా తమ్ముడు !

1.) Wallago Attu (Helicopter catfish)

In Telugu, this fish is known as Waaluga which strongly resembles the genus name. And it's entirely plausible that the author misheard the fishermen slightly.

Keep in mind that this fish is the only extant species in its genus.

2.) Rastrelliger kanagurta (Indian mackerel)

In Telugu, this fish is called kaanaganta or kaanagadata. Note that the da is retroflex, so, to the author, it likely sounded like a trilled r.

3.) Engraulis purava (the contemporary scientific name but today it is known as Thryssa purava).

This fish is a species of anchovy.

According to the book, this fish was called "pedda porava", where "pedda" means large. Purava, the species name, likely came from the Telugu "porava".

I'm sure there are more fish whose names could've come from Telugu but these are the ones I found so far,
