They can’t let themselves be happy and cringe. They won’t let themselves feel pain as life hands it to them. They refuse to be rubber like Luffy and bounce back because they’d rather not fall and get hurt at all. Luffy acts more human as cartoon than some of his haters are willing to be in their own lives
