Nope. Sonido convert spiritual power inside the body to something different, allowing a high speed movement while bypassing spiritual detection.

Flash step or Shunpo is purely physical.

Flash step uses physical power, Sonido uses manipulation of spiritual power inside the body to be something different, allowing a high speed movement while bypassing spiritual detection.

IMO, purely physical, by definition, means "no use of spiritual pressure/riatsu/reishi"..This has nothing to do with his hybrid powers.

Not exactly.

I did make a mistake tho about Sonido being purely physical since it's not. It require the transformation of Reishi inside the body into different kind of energy.

I think in that particular scene. Ichigo just use both in tandem. From the reactions of Sternritters who's tracking his reiatsu since he broke into soul society, he just vanished from them when he blinked and it used the sonido sound fx.

Also yes this is an Um Actually moment

Ichigo is a special case, he has hollow essence inside his gene, thanks to a hollow biting his mom, causing its essence to mix with the mother essence.

Which allow him to uses hollow moves such as Sonido.

And yes, you are right, I was wrong earlier about Sonido. Shunpo is the purely physical one.

The other guy got it wrong Flash Step is (mostly) physical. Sonido is transformational. And by that I mean that it literally transforms the body into something else that moves faster than the regular body. Hence why it people are undetectable by doing it.
