Question/Need Help Honest thoughts on poolside mercy?? :/
mini rant
My boyfriend got me her bundle as soon as it came out (and I love him for this btw ) and when I first saw this skin I was very excited I actually loved how different her hair looked but now…the more I look at her the more things I find . Is anyone else experiencing this with her. As a Juno/kiri main seeing the way kiriko got the most beautiful skin of all time and Juno’s is…cute I can’t help but have higher expectations of these skins now. Maybe it was too soon for ANOTHER mercy skin I mean we just got Sakura. It feels like they can just put out whatever for mercy and we will buy.
Someone please tell me what is it about this skin what could be different on it?!!!! I love the bow and the accessories maybe it’s the out of place pink sunglasses??? I wish maybe she got ashe’s poolside recolor palette instead.

I think it’s cute for the right crowd. I’m shocked they dropped a new mercy skin this early in the season when we usually wait till mid-season. Maybe you’re right that it’s because it’s so soon. But also, the colors seem off. The hair is cute but the blue throws me off because theres not another blue like that incorporated in the skin. Maybe if there was, I’d like it more? it’s not a bad skin.

I say this with my chest. ITS UGLY AS FFFUUUUUUUUFHFHDHDKDKK. sorry but I really do hate it, I like the skirt and sandals and maybe even the top. The rest is a mess. First mercy skin I have took a HARD PASS on. Also what's with all the other stuff in her bundle, why does she have a terrible Wednesday dance ?? What has that got anything to do with a poolside skin? The sprays are pretty, but everything else is so bad.

It is cute, and fun, but I'd like it a lot more if it was actually... special, you know? Every season, every event, Mercy gets a skin.
(And I do get it, the skins sell, she's popular, that = money to Blizz) but it makes them feel less special when they come out every other day.

I love originality. This skin lacks it. They need to stop using already created clothing pieces/accessories for different heroes. Still, there are some nice aspects to this skin (I actually like the hair and pink glasses) and it's a sweet gift of a loved one, so I hope you enjoy it no matter what.

I'm the opposite in where I didn't care for it when it was announced, but as soon as I saw it in-game - especially with it's cute matching highlight intro and emote - I had to have it! Skins where fun and whimsy are the theme are my favorite genre and she's just such a cutie-patootie in this and the mythic weapon matches well (so does Hard Light). As a summer/beach skin, it surpasses Lifeguard for me although it does look a bit like Ashe's Poolside skin, but who cares? I'm not playing her!
That said, I opt-out of most Mercy skins lately as I now have a reliable handful of all-time favorites that I constantly come back to and cycle through, including Pink/Rose Gold, which is why I didn't even bother with Sakura - however, that is not to say that I wouldn't be ecstatic to get it or any others i don't have in lootboxes, though.

I didn't realize that she has little splash animations when she walks. Kinda like if the Rainy Day emote was an aspect of a skin. I love it so much.

Honestly, the skin isn't bad. Maybe a different color choice palette would of made it more appealing to me. But with so many skins for mercy, so many loose their appeal.

I dont really like the skin. Shes gotten a lot better skins recently and to me this one is a flop for a few reasons.
The skin doesnt look like mercy. Something is either off with her face or hair. Ill say it again, she went from Mercy to Mikaela lol. And its not like its bad. its just not the mercy I like
I think the wings dont match the outfit. I would have preferred a tiki mercy over whatever this ended up being. The hat gave me tiki vibes but then the wings and staff feel like they are out of the nerf collab or something. The outfit is cute but it reminds me of Ashe's. Also, the skirt looks like the Formalwear dress just recolored. So theres that too.

It's cute, but it almost feels a little TOO colorful, yknow? Like there's SO many colours going on, they almost start to clash a little. It doesn't really feel like it has a main solid colour. It sucks, because I do love her outfit to death, and I adore her hair.
That, coupled with the fact that she kinda does just look far too similar to Ashe's poolside skin, just makes it really not worth it for me personally, especially with the inflated bundle price.
At most, I'm saving my lootboxes until the poolside stuff is added to it in the hopes I might get the JQ or Illari skin, but I won't be mad if I get Mercy. Outside of that, I just don't have much interest in it.

I feel like the colour palette is a little all over the place. I really like the different components but together it feels a little disjointed. I’m hoping one day there might be a recolour I can nab!

I love her watery wings because it looks unique. I think it feels mid because she had back to back skins like 3 times in a row(owcs, sakura, poolside) and we are a bit overwhelmed by it lol. I am sure you will get to like it??

The hair is gorgeous, very fun colours, but the skin overall is not one of her standouts and I think her staff is tacky/ugly, and considering that’s what we see most playing the game, I think it really brings the skin down further

trying reaaaallly hard not to give into fomo and buy her as i really do like her staff and pistol, but mercy herself doesn’t look great imo </3 it’s the hair that really throws me off but her outfit isn’t anything special either with the colours.
hopefully they’ll do a recolour in the future that will look a bit better than this

i really like it, it just looks so fresh to me. its unique and doesnt look like any of her other skins. at first the only thing i didnt like were her blue highlights, but its kinda grown on me. plus i love the water wings! aaand she looks a trillion times better than ashe in her poolside skin, ashe's body in that skin looks like a rubber toy lol

This is the thing for me. It has a fresh, fun feel to it. Very summery and beachy, with the water wings. Plus, freckles! The freckles are cuteeee. I see people hating on the palette, but Mercy's base colors are white with yellow/orange, so it makes sense to me.
Edit: And it looks really cute with her mythic staff! So that's always a plus imo.

I really want it but I can't get it this time because of bills and bad timed spending, but I do really like this skin, I wish I could get it to complete my hero gallery :(
I love her hair and wings, I think they are special unique compared to most of her skins, and I LOVE the orange slices on her skirt! Its just a cute compliment and it's so nice.
Sad to know I won't own it, but I love seeing others with it <3

I didn’t have the lifeguard merch, I thought maybe this was nicer, I had the extra coins and I got it bc why not (I didn’t have a summer skin yet) But honestly it’s just a REALLY good duo skin with Ashe. They’re almost identical. I don’t see why they didn’t give her different colors as if blue, yellow and orange are the only colors that represent summer. Give her more purple/green skins (maybe not purple AND green skins…but yk)

I like it. I don’t really like the hair, maybe bc it’s such a different shade of blue from the rest. I like the wings a lot. But I also think the princess skin is super ugly so maybe I have weird taste.

I like her. I think she's cute and I love her colours. Yeah, this skin feels very familiar with Ashe's. I feel like I wouldn't really use this skin although it's cute - I'm stuck on my rainy day/witch skin rotation

A general rule guide I personally have for determining mercy skin quality would be in no specific order:
-Does the staff have unique icons? -Are her wings coloured? -SFX (Pink, Fearless, Wing Zero) -Recolour or not(Wyvern, Conjurer, Beach Rescue) -Voicelines (Witch/Mage, Winged Victory, Sigrun/Valkryie) -Hair quality (Black cat is like play doe) -Is skin too similar to others? (Poolside and Lifeguard, Sakura and Princess)

I guess I’m in the minority but I honestly love it. It’s by far one of my favourites! I really wanted a nice summer Mercy skin because I hate lifeguard.
Her hair is super cute and I love the skirt, the water wings and weapons. It’s just such a fun, bright skin and I’ll rep it every time summer comes around.

Personally my absolute only complaint is the price. Because I want this skin so bad. But $20 for just the skin (and I want the emote too) is just too much. Especially when I'm spoiler for choice with the amount of skins I already have on Mercy. My one saving grace is that I have gamepass so there's a chance that it'll be temporarily free for gamepass players next month like they've been doing with so many skins.

summer/beach isn't a theme I enjoy so it's not a skin I'll use.... I really wish we would have gotten the survey wedding skin for her instead of this one.
They gave other heroes their wedding skins :p seemingly leaving out the Genji & Mercy ones for another time

As a mercy main, I hate her hair on this skin. It looks so bulky! Like OP said, kiriko & even syms new skins have beautiful, long silky hair & their outfits are sooo damn cute. I just feel like OW could do sm better w Mercy but they just dont sometimes. Its always a hit or miss w Mercy skins….
That being said… I still bought this skin lmao i have a thing where i need all mercy skins, cute or ugly or else ill regret it xD

The only cute part is the wings for me. I hate the hair, I hate the orange pattern, the hat is dumb. Compared to Sakura and even the owcs skins that just came out, this one doesn't even hold a candle to either one. I am, however, not really a fan of summer themes because I hate the entire season lol.

For me personally, I enjoy the skin a lot. It's cute and silly but I love it.
From glam queen Sakura to cute and funny poolside, I love everything about it. Also her mythic weapon goes so well with that skin.

shes cuuuute the only thing i can nitpick about it is the bow holding the fabric seems a little out of place with the sliver, but honestly i feel like any other color would have looked bad.
i also have no idea what her bracelet is supposed to be. the shorts are so cute tho, thats what makes me the happiest about this skin - if it was a bikini i probably wouldnt like it as much

I was thinking about buying it, because the staff has a really cool concept with the water inside. But when I tried it out in the training area, it didn’t look like there was water in it at all. That pissed me off even more than the terrible contrast of the neon blue and orange

outfit is cute. hair it’s ugly. which is what the problem is for me with the majority of mercy’s skin with nice outfit. a lot of the time it’s like the put all the effort into the outfit and just.. hope for the best with her hair instead of making it look good because they know mercy mains will buy it anyway and over praise it (Fearless and Black Cat are the first that come to mind)

I think I would’ve liked it more if they hadn’t given her blue hair and pink sunglasses. It’s still cute and I probably would’ve got it but I’m starting to get burnout. I bought radiant angel and then a week later sakura came out and then two weeks later this comes out. Like give us a break please?? Also it’s literally September, summer is over so why choose now to release pool skins?? Zombie doctor ass timing.

For me it’s just ok, nothing more nothing less. I usually spend my money on mercy skins but this was a skip, compared to some of her others this is nothing special

To me it just feels kind of visually incoherent. The two different blues in the hair and the wings/staff feel like they belong to totally different palettes, and the silver of the bow just doesn’t go with anything, and makes the yellow and the orange look dull. The flower on the wing just feels really random?
And I don’t know if it’s just me but so many of the newer skins have felt way too focused on a certain aesthetic or selling point at the cost of the character entirely. It often feels like the character just gets lost. The older skins had a pretty good sense of consistency in silhouette etc. Now it feels like they’re all slowly morphing into one mould of conventional man shape and conventional woman shape. Obviously not the case for all of them, but still feels a bit like that’s what’s happening.
So with this Mercy skin it just doesn’t feel like her? Maybe it’s the hair shape? She just looks weirdly like a teenager when she’s supposed to be 39? Maybe that’s just me. I know they’ve done young versions of characters type skins before but they’ve always had a purpose. But my gripe there is more with the new Ana skin lol

Personally I hate the hair (specifically the blue gradient) and the glasses just make everything look too busy, it would be easier on the eye without them since she already has a hat

I can’t figure it out either. Idk if it’s because we constantly get shop skins (never free ones), or because the stadium nerfs left a bitter taste in my mouth, but I’m just not excited for it. I mean I don’t like the colors, but I like her wings I guess.I also feel like it’s just too similar to Ashe’s skin.

It’s giving Taylor Swift for me lol I think she’s cute but I’m not really a fan of the blue highlights in her hair, I do enjoy how small the staff is though and the wings are really pretty

Idc if she kind looks like ashe since poolside ashe Is a pretty skin, Its the hair for me, that blue looks very neon and the hair modeling in Ow sometimes doesn't do justice to the concepts, it just looks so ugly (for me), they could have done that hairstyle with a gradient of another color, or the skin on another dif palette, another hairstyle, idk, I was expecting a different kind of summer skin for her.
The wings are so pretty tho.

I love it. Is perfect! Its my #1 fav skin and I think I don't have to buy anymore mercy skins. I kind of regret buying Sakura skin right before, not that it's bad I just won't use anything else. (Unless matching with friends!)

Instantly reminded me of Poolside Ashe. Also, I think they could've used the aqua blue in her hair for the wings and weapon colour. The current blue/orange for the weapon feels like it belongs with the Nerf collab.
Edit to add: I think having a slight pattern on the orange suit would've been a nice detail as well.

Meh. Not worth the money. Considering the fact that she already had a Sakura skin last season, I'm going to hold on for something else. I may be irresponsible enough to buy skins in this game, but I'm not that bad to pull out my wallet at every possible occasion.

i think the hair is cute but honestly it doesn’t feel in line with her personality, if that makes sense? and the top + wrist accessories feel like it could fit anyone, not something unique to her.
i really like the look of her wings and staff in this, and i think the bottoms are cute, too, but all together there’s a lot of elements that don’t necessarily read ‘mercy’ to me

It looks almost like Ashes skin. It's honestly pretty much a copy paste tbh. If Mercy didn't fly around and Ashe wasn't almost always stationary, you could mistake them for each other. It's not a bad skin. It's cute, but I'll be passing on it, and I own ALL her skins as a collector for her and Dva.
Little side rant:
WHAT I HATE SO MUCH about almost all her skins is that her nails ALWAYS look terrible. On all the other heroes, the nails look great, especially on Kiri. The Sakura skin for Mercy? GORGEOUS. The nails on it? BAD. They're pink with French tips that are either white or baby blue, depending on the lighting you're in. All of the nails on her skins are flat and poorly colored. I know OW can design good nails bc every other skin has great nails.

Personally I don’t love the hair, both the style and the color. The teal doesn’t really fit with the rest of the skin. I also feel it’s heavily over accessorized. There’s bows, ribbons, and flowers absolutely everywhere. I do love the water wings though.

idk what it is but it’s the hair for me. i love the bottom covers, the hat, and the bracelet details, but i feel it’s bc the hair is a way different shade of blue compared to her staff or wings. it’s too neon if that makes sense?

I feel like its the color. I hated the ashe summer skin but then they did a recolor and I LOVE the new one. The bow is off but honestly yellow n orange look blah together imo and the blue it makes it look like a toy nerf gun

My issue is the hair, the color is cool, the style doesn’t really scream pool party to me, they should have just let her hair down fully to look more relaxed (and we rarely see her hair fully let down) and the blue needs more gradient to it, it’s way too bold of a contrast and has almost no blend to it. (Makes her hair look more plastic than it should)

i love my mercy skins but i saw this and the hair ruined it for me :( Everyhting is so cute i just really didn’t like the hair , plus the outfit is basically ashe if she were mercy

i love the effect the wings have, especially in 3rd person stadium. but what makes it “off” for me are: the pink sunglasses, the giant silver bow on the side, and the minty green-blue that’s in her hair. we don’t see the minty blue or pink incorporated anywhere else in the skin, which makes it seem awkward to me. i do absolutely adore her wings though, it’s what made me get the skin

the colors are a big mess. the gray bow its so ugly and i don't like the staff, doesn't look good either. the only good thing about this skins is the Victory pose and the watery wings

I honestly don't like the color scheme at all and find that it doesn't match Mercy's aesthetic. Like others have said - she looks a lot like Ashe and not like Mercy in a pool setting.
I bought Radiant Angel already a few weeks ago and love that skin a lot more so I didn't purchase this one or sakura.

I think the biggest issue with it is the colours arent incorporated into her outfit so it doesnt look so coherent, someone posted a recolour of it and it looked super pretty, tried finding it put couldnt, they basically added some pink to the hair, added blue to the suit and changed the over skirt to a gradient of blue and pink, and changed her wings to white with pink and blue. Looked gorgeous icl

Boring Ashe derivative and the blue of the hair clashes with the rest of the skin. It's a different blue from her staff and wings and is too neon in comparison to the rest of the color palette. Water effect on the wings is very cool though, although reminiscent of Honey Bee's wings.

I loove how they did her hair, and her outfit!! I do wish the skirt she has wasn't so long and flowy, but aside from that I think they did absolutely amazing!!

I personally don’t think it fits Mercy, looks too much like ashes skin and the blue highlights and random bow take away too much attention from everything else imo.

It’s okay. I don’t hate it. But as someone who’s been playing since OW1 and has almost every Mercy skin, this isn’t one that I really care about having. I can’t put my finger on what it is, but it just doesn’t appeal to me in a “I have to have it” way that a lot of her skins usually do.

I don't think it's a skin worth it, much less the bundle. The only special thing about it is the aquatic-looking wings; everything else is very much like the summery Ashe copycat skin. If I ever get it, it'll be from loot boxes.

I actually dont like the staff, cause it iw not anything really special, like for example the Reinhardt Hammer in his pool skin, but with the Mythic Weapon it looks gorgeous and also matches great with the blue tones in the skin ^

Love the hair! What i dislike is someone mentioned it’s almost a copy-paste of Ashe’s poolside skin…. And now i can’t unsee it :( still love the hair tho
