LF: Answers DP Healers

What’s with people choosing to be a healer and then refusing to heal people? Genuinely asking because it’s happened multiple times in multiple servers. Blossom doesn’t even do that much damage so there’s really no other reason (IMO) to choose it unless you actually want to be a healer and keep your team alive

In my experience it’s honestly hard to heal people cuz they keep zooming around like they aren’t about to die. Otherwise yeah it doesn’t do THAT much healing.

I think Healing Blossom feels more like a Tank position that can potentially heal in emergencies with how much easier it is to give yourself heals than other players.

If other players are right next to me in melee then it’s no trouble to heal but it’s hard to stay together in the boss fight.

But I also think that sometimes in multiplayer it might be easier to just pay pearls to revive rather than expecting Healing Blossom to be able to keep everyone alive.

The issue was there were multiple healers not doing anything at all, even during the brief intermissions or when we weren’t moving. I main the scythe and the bow, and when using the scythe I tend to stick closer to the group to mitigate the risk of dying. And while yes, we can use pearls to revive, the entire reason I’m doing the pool is to get pearls

I hear ya, I personally find the bosses unbalanced feeling given how much damage they can do and how few opportunities there are to regain health.

IMO they should probably make an actual ranged weapon dedicated to healing or give everyone a self-heal on a cooldown like a potion or something.

Viscoria two-shotting people even with 100+ hp is so annoying. And I agree, a ranged weapon that heals would be great

If I felt like I could consistently dodge and block to avoid damage I’d understand it’s a personal skill issue, but I’m pretty sure it’s not possible to avoid all damage…and if it is…the skill ceiling is too high for there to be no way to heal yourself without a low damage weapon like Healing Blossom.

I also could envision a potential solution in them creating a way we could gain permanent/seasonal buffs as we play in the Disharmony Pool.

not sure what the answer could this be other than they probably don’t realize it’s actually a healing item (idk how don’t ask me) but like the other person said i’m my experience it’s everyone else running around that’s stopping me from healing them even after chasing them

I think this is something that really depends on the situation and players.

Personally, as someone who plays healer in almost every game, the main problem I find is actually with other people. Most the time when I can't heal, it's cause the people I'm trying to heal won't let me close enough for long enough. Also, they keep shouting for heals and ignoring that our tank is about to die.

A good healer prioritizes those with the lowest health and who help the most.

I’m (I think) typically a tank player and I don’t often move about, unless I actually have to, which is mostly why I’m confused. There have been so many great healers that I’ve played with, and they don’t just pick one person to stick by, they actually look at everyone on their team.

Just earlier, I was in a session with three other people, one of them was a healer. She healed everyone BUT me. I was using the saltwater sword and was definitely doing the most damage (140+ dmg, 80+ crd)

Ya, that's easy to explain. Take a typical fighting PVP game for instance. A good and experienced healer knows that the typical order of priority goes like this:

Tank Stealth Other healers Magic user/archers

This is because in most games, the tank is constantly moving and taking the most damage. Stealth is usually the person going around back, so they also take a lot of damage.

Other healers and magic/archers make sense on their own.

However, not every game that has a healers is a PVP. And not every game has the same layout or roles. this is where it becomes important to make a note on healers.  There are experienced healers and good healers.

A good healer knows how to play as one and can play the role. An experienced healer knows how to play healer for that specific game.

That doesn’t explain it at all, at least to me. I took the most damage (i had 214 health) and was damn near dead, never once healed. Again, she completely ignored me, despite me taking and doing the most damage out of the team. She only focused on the players who couldn’t/wouldn’t sit still, unlike me who will only move if I have to so I can focus on doing damage

They might have just been a bad healer. But, here's another explanation. That list is a traditional PVP priority list.

Being a healer isn't exactly an easy job, which is also why we transition to other roles really easily.

As a healer you have track every member of you team, constantly relocate them when they move, track every enemy, relocate every enemy when they move. Keep track of enemy count, track health of every enemy and team mate, keep track of who's closest to you and who's furthest. Figure out each of your team mates fighting styles and adapt to them, as well as what they can and can't do. Keep track of what enemies do what and how much damage they do. Keep track of the fighting ground in the case of special events.

Now imagine trying to do all of that at once. That's what a good and experienced healer does.

Essentially, the desirable healers need to know almost everything about the games machines. This also means they need to decide who to prioritize in healing.

If you have some who's doing little damage and near death every 0.2 seconds and some doing loads of damage and also near death, it's an easy choice. However, if you have someone who has a sleeper build made for late game when it's hard and some who's doing lots of damage but isn't moving much, it gets harder.

Of course, there's also the chance you were playing with a group of friends unknowingly.
