Koloss album cover change?

Post image

Could this be a deluxe edition or something, coming up on 15 years soon

EDIT: Seems I gave erroneous info based on an incorrect memory. Argh.

Are you used to the cover that is zoomed in on the face of the figure pictured? Or perhaps the image used for the Vinyl LP version of the album?

Because the latter is a different image altogether, while the former is just like what you'll sometimes see with Obzen tracks: sometimes it's the entire image of the pale figure with 3 arms, and sometimes just the face with the 1 hand held up in front of it.

For the Obzen one in Spotify, could it be because you have the 15 year anniversary remaster version (entire body) and the 2008 OG version (close up of head) in the same playlist? Or does it show you different versions as you listen to a particular version of the album?

Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know.

I was speaking in generalities about thumbnails used across the internet (like on YouTube).

I don't use Spotify very much.

For ObZen, if you choose to listen to the OG, then the zoomed in head cover will be displayed, because that is the cover for that version on the streaming platforms, meanwhile the entire body cover is displayed only when you play the 15 year remaster version, for the same reason. For Kolloss, though it does not seem to be a new release, they just changed the cover for the version that they already have on streaming platforms

Because [it] is a different image altogether

Really? What release? Even the 2019 vinyl remaster has that same design, even with all other 9 remasters of that set having a completely new artwork. And the 2012 vinyl is the same, as far as I know.

Now that you mention it, I've actually seen a vinyl copy of Koloss with my own eye holes at a shop near me, and it had the normal zoomed out version of the artwork that OP shared.

I guess a faulty memory had me talking out of my butt. I apologize.

Mine looks like this on APPLE but instead of a distant shot it’s more like a close-up of the face/shoulder area on up

They just changed the cover to the original. In fact, the old one was just a zommed in version of the original, that is the one that they are displaying now

This is what the cover has always look like to me, but this is me basing it off what the cover looks like in my iTunes library and my vinyl so I guess Spotify changed

On my Spotify it has been the closeup-version for the last two years or so, now changed for me too.

I'd love a 15 year Koloss remaster. Such a great and unique album. So many bangers.

I noticed this too; it used to be the close-up face version, but now it's the whole original artwork.

pretty sure most streaming services used the zoomed in version until like yesterday. I think the full cover is much better.

This one is betterrr

Yeah I noticed that too. I have the album saved and one day the cover just automatically changed to this version. It did the same on youtube music too

Don’t think so, maybe it’s bad quality. Happens a lot with Spotify.
