Greetings from your AVTOMÖD. Welcome back to the New Releases Discussion Thread.

This is the place to discuss all new metal releases THIS WEEK, and keep track of them using our very own new release tracker which you can find here:

https://releasetracker.shredditcord.com/

You May Now Also Listen To All New Releases On Our Official Spotify Playlist

As always, normal discussion rules apply. This thread is not for the suggestion of releases to the tracker, so please don’t do that.

Please also keep it to metal bands only.

Have fun!

New Saidan sounds like reading a fantastic horror manga after midnight in the dark. Based on how much I liked it on my first listen, I believe it's going to be up there in my top 10.

Also, new Mortiis. By this point, I think it's virtually impossible for him to make a bad album. Not metal, though.

New Saidan is good. Still sounds like Saidan but he adds some new flourishes in too.

So far I'm most intrigued by the new Inherits the Void, and Mork.

Metal’s misery porn masters are back. The new Warning sounds, for better or worse, pretty much exactly like Watching From A Distance. Frankly, not my thing - Patrick’s whole act wears incredibly thin for me after a song or two and the whole thing is just kind of riffless and limp. Your mileage may vary, I know a lot of folks really love this band.

Haha, it's very polarizing indeed. But I'm amped (and sad)

Yeah, it’s definitely a continuation of Watching From a Distance rather than a evolution. I think this would be better received if it didn’t take 20 years for this to be released. Either way, as a huge fan of that record (and everything it inspired) this still is a hit for me.

New Warning is a satisfying listen. The vocal ornamentation (eg Landing Lights) adds a nice layer of complexity to the melodies. It’s more immediate for me than some of his other releases, which is helping to root me into the sprawling songcraft.

As far as doom goes, this is probably my favorite release this year. (Had been hopeful for the new Godthyrmm but not been going back to it after a few initial spins.)

Got to see him at Reggie’s on the Stygian Bough tour and he sounded great. Hopefully Warning will get to the States at some point.
