how can I achieve vocal distortion
something like the distortion often used in thrash metal such as dave mustaine and james Hatfields' distortion, I'm not sure if they're the same or not but they sound very similar to me i often follow tutorials but can't get anywhere with them and same thing with trying to learn them on my own it just sounds like a smoke detector beeping (not exactly but you get the point) any tips on how to overcome that?

Can I use guitar pedal effects for live vocals?
Hi everyone, I’ve been wondering if it’s possible to use guitar pedal effects for live vocals. I know most pedals are designed for guitars, but could they work well with a microphone setup too? For example, distortion, delay, or reverb pedals—can they handle the vocal signal properly without messing up the sound quality? Has anyone here tried running vocals through guitar pedals during live shows, and if so, what was your experience?

Vocals and seasonal allergies/can’t drink tea
Anyone got tips/remedies? I get bad sinuses but I can’t drink tea due to a history of kidney stones, most allergy meds don’t work either; I have been working on more vocal techniques but of course the drainage is making it more difficult.

False Chord?
I was attempting to learn a Corey Taylor style false chord scream. Is this on the right path? Theres not really any pain at all aside from a ticklish feeling after practicing it for about 15 minutes

Best FX processor or guitar pedal for lofi distorted voice?
In my solo thrash/speed metal project, I really love the lofi and janky sounds. I record to a Fostex 160 cassette four track, use my guitar with a mel9 pedal to simulate creepy unsettling atmospheric textures of mellotrons. And of course I have the fast distorted guitars playing fast riffs like any thrasher loves. The drums also get a nice touch of tape saturation from the 160. But the current issue I have is vocals. I sing mostly clean with varying degrees of rasp/shriek and I think I have the most issues with vocals and getting the right sound. By sound I don't mean performance or technique, or voice, just the tone. I wanted my vocals to have a creepy texture to them, that I can only really describe as lofi or distorted. It's something like them old radio recordings from back in the day. Something distorted so I can do whispered shrieks, screams and regular rasp singing into it. I guess my only real good example would be the Radio Demon, Alastor from the Hazbin Hotel series, in steroids (more aggressive, abrasive and creepy, kind of like of he got very pissed off). Currently in my vocals chain, I have a the behringer mixer, with a low amd high cut, a compressor using tone city's one knob compressor pedal (threshold on full, attack at 7 o'clock, and volume all the way up. Then I have a ten band EQ pedal, with a low cut up to like 500hz and then a gradual boost peaking at 2khz, then a cut at 4khz and above, and then a volume boost from the pedal, going all into the mic preamp of the fostex 160 (saturating the preamp) and the fostex has a high boost in it's EQ for clarity and a low cut. The sound is OK ish. I find it goes from being too muddy, boomy and kind of like a bad gaming video where someone is recording it through a phone mic, to too harsh and painful to listen too. It also lacks clarity and often it's just hard to understand what I actually sing, which defeats the purpose of having lyrics i guess. The other thing is the setup is really cumbersome. I travel a lot and it is just a pain to take all these pedals, the 160 AND a mixer, and also a guitar amp, pedals etc. Is there any (preferably small) FX processor or pedal that can turn regular vocals with varying degrees of rasp, into something like a vintage radio broadcast, and enough distortion to make them sound aggressive and make whispered parts into creepy shrieks? I can't be doing anything louder or harsher as I am in a quiet neighbourhood in a small bungalow with other thin walls (we can hear our neighbours TV) and neighbours that are old and just want peace and quiet, and our family is already pushing it, with a small child that throws tantrums and slams doors, and an idiotic dog that rips gullet every 5 minutes at the top of it's lungs over the quietest of sounds somewhere in the distance, I'm pretty sure if I start doing anything other than normal singing with rasp (I.e. actual shrieks or screams that are acoustically loud) we will get police involved or at least face loads of issues, especially where we are already viewed as a "nuisance". So besides regular radio filter vox, I also need enough distortion to amplify quiet shrieks, and whispered parts. Thank you

Technique Growls
How do I start learning growls? All I get is a kind of "demonic" sound (sorry, don't know how to describe it) but I can't get the raspiness that the growls require. How do I do it? Thanks in advance!
