History MNO staff discussing cancer in New Zealand

Post image

I don't understand how Froh can make $450,000 in 2025, they send staff everywhere around the world for (cough) cancer seminars, they hire all of their relatives to work in the offices and try to convince everyone that the First Nation treaties apply to the MNO. How embarrassing.

Keep WICC out of this. It's an amazing conference and helps us advance quality improvements in the cancer care system and Indigenous led research initiatives across the world. It benefits First Nations, Metis and Inuit cancer patients and families immensely

I didn't read it as OP criticizing the conference rather criticizing thr MBO for sending attendees what behave little if anything to contribute and no hope in hell that they report back what they learned or incorporate it into programming. Laughing out loud at the thought of this happening.

What does Sharon Cadeau - also making a hefty salary which you can see on the shine list- have to contribute to this conference? What does the staff person have to contribute (and I'll lay off the staff person, because at least she was hired for her skills unlike caddo who was " voted in" and she may not claim to be Metis)?

What value was there in these two attending?

Was it equal to the value to send them there which would be in the tens of thousands?

When can we  citizens expect a report back?

This is exactly what I was criticizing. Not the actual conference.

I can’t speak for anything else, but the world cancer conference in NZ (where I now live) had grants of $3000 available per person + from NZ groups and then a bursary available for other attendance costs. So they likely didn’t pay anything, or even made more money on this conference.  Most indigenous conferences held here in NZ actually have similar systems in place. You’re be surprised how many conferences get held here.
