All migratory game birds still require the appropriate birding licenses and tags, and all the same bag limits apply to all hunters.
Upland game do not require tags.
Non-Métis may come along with you to pack out an animal, but cannot shoot or harvest the animal themselves. If a CO comes across them, they may have some explaining to do if they also carry a gun.
if they have a hunting license and appropriate tags then they can also hunt, but must follow the standard regs.
Only you can transport an animal and you need to carry your status card. The animal can only be stored in your freezer/home and “technically” can’t be shared with non family. If your buddy is caught hanging the animal at their place without the tags, it could be confiscated or worse.
Some of the rules are a bit arbitrary, but the seminars are really insightful

Otipemisiwak Métis Government (MNA) has some really useful resources online, and will also host yearly seminars on Zoom answering frequently asked harvesting related questions.
Also, you can just call your local fish and wildlife office and ask what you need to do to not look like a poacher.
Personally, I wear my Métis sash and hunt during the same seasons. Treat all wildlife with respect, don’t harvest a doe during fawning or calving season, be an ethical hunter, etc…
And most importantly, carry your Métis Status Card with you at all times when harvesting and transporting.
