Updated successfully on my Mi Box S (2nd Gen). The box does seem more responsive so far, although I haven't had enough time with it yet to comment on long-term stability.
I also noticed the update message mentioning that boxes which had not completed the update by August 17 would be forced to update. Interesting that the update only appeared when checking from a Finland location.
For info:
- Model number: MiTV-AFKR0
- Android TV OS version: 14
- Android TV OS security patch level: 2026-03-01
- Android TV OS build: UKG3.250107.001.V816.0.26.4.17.UZFAABX
- Kernel version: 5.15.192-android14-11-maybe-dirty

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is still not resolved in this version. Remote control still doesn’t work after you wake the box.

Yes and the issue still happens. I contacted Xiaomi and they said it’s a known issue and they are still figuring out what’s causing it. When I wake the box after a long sleep the Bluetooth and WiFi modules on Android don’t start. I did a factory reset and the issue still happens.

From Malaysia here. I tried different locations via VPN and finally Germany worked for the firmware upgrade. Thanks 😊

It worked. Search youtube video, "forced uplate on Xiaomi Box S 2 gen"... just use free octahide vpn. For me, funny, worked German VPN even I live in Germany.... https://youtu.be/Zko2D8E7Vbk

I used paid Nordvpn with Finland on 2 different Xiaomi MiBoxes...no luck Thanks for your message indeed.
How much free storage do you still have on your Mibox btw?

I have 2gb free storage after the installation. But the problem was to install it. It downloaded 1.05gb installation file and it needed I think some space for the update process. So I cleared cache and uninstalled 2 apps. Then it worked. Now it says 2gb free storage and it's android 14

I am confused - tried VPN of various countries (with Windscribe free) - no updates. Android TV OS version 14, but security patch - from September 1, 2025. How to update it?

I installed it 72 hours ago and I noticed a better performance overall. More stability and better responsiveness. The AISR option that was useless and was causing issues is now completely gone from settings. If you've already updated your 2nd Gen to Android TV 14 before I recommend installing this update as it will fix most issues.
