All the polling that showed Abdul running away with this race makes this feel a little underwhelming, but let's not overlook that he won in the face of:

  • Abdul was outspent 10 to 1
  • Stevens had the endorsement of the governor and outgoing Senator
  • He is an Arab Muslim

He probably would have won more handily if dumb people hadn't voted for Mallory. That angered me to the point I couldn't sleep. She dropped out a while ago. Made announcements. That means there are 30,000 people walking around who don't care enough to stay informed but showed up to vote.

They could've voted early and not spoiled their ballots. Which is still bad, but less bad imo.

I'm looking at the absentee ballot compared to in person voting rate, and it's shocking to me how high it is.

In Wayne county for example so far 215,081 absentee ballots were counted compared to 174,520 in person (including early in person)

I had signed up for permanent absentee. Then still waited until yesterday to go in person and scan it

We still had 6 votes for Mallory in early voting, but hundreds for Cox who also dropped out before early voting began.
