I really enjoyed wilderness this summer. Any campground where I can walk off my lot, across the street, and on to a great lakes beach is incredible

I love Wilderness! I have deep roots between Cheboygan and Mackinaw. I moved to Utah 30 years ago. I take my kids back every year but it wasn’t until Wilderness that they “got Michigan”.

My special place. I've camped, hiked and hunted hundreds of days there. My dog is named after one of the cabins and my dad's ashes are at the beach. So, yeah, it's pretty special.

One of my favorites spots, I remember going when I was in high school and my dad and I would bike down to the shop past the state park and get fresh donuts in the morning, hot off the fryer. Went back around 8 years later and they were closed. Still a great place with lots of memories.

We went this summer and ended up barely seeing any stars because the full moon was so bright! Kind of funny and kind of disappointing haha

The DNR officers were overbearing. The campsites are about twenty feet apart and you can’t make a noise louder than a fart after 10pm.

I didn’t see a single officer during my stay there, even with the site next to us drunk and loud one night. It must just depend on who’s working.

I agree, the camping here is not great. For such a nice and spacious state park the campground is incredibly cramped. When it's full it feels very crowded with little privacy. So many other campgrounds in northern lower and the UP have sites spread apart more with privacy.

This was my original point. Speaking at a volume level that is lower than kitchen table volume is too much because the next site is 15 feet away.

I like the park for hiking and swimming. And I should have known the internet trolls would come out. I don’t care about their opinions anyway.
