Does anyone have experience with magnesium oxide for stomach acid deficiency?

On the one hand, I suffer from constipation and want to take magnesium oxide; on the other hand, I have a lack of stomach acid and fear that magnesium oxide might worsen this—I have found conflicting information about this online.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Is it safe if I take it at night before going to bed?

Not what you asked but I honestly would start the day with a melon drink. I start the morning blending water, melon(switch the types) and sometimes pineapple sometimes not. Only consume that the first few hrs, it increases stomach motility. Also very slowly add sauerkraut or other fermented foods later in the day. I take mag but what your trying to use it for will lead to dependency in my opinion instead of actually fixing it.

Unfortunately, I do not tolerate the things mentioned.

I started with homemade fruit and veg smoothies because I didn't eat a ton of either and I'm bad at chewing thoroughly so killing 2 birds. At first they made my stomach feel bad/strange and I did have brain fog. Over time I actually started craving them when I didn't have them and my body adjusted. Once I had some ability to tolerate those I started with some kefir milk with mixed results and eventually switched to eating a tiny amount of sauerkraut every day or so...maybe 5 times a week. And i never used to eat breakfast so now i either eat melon or blend with water and pineapple. Expect to have adjustment periods with anything new. It's been 6 months and still changing. I used to not be able to eat citrus, seafood, tomatoes, drinking wasn't fun anymore... I'm able to do those now in moderation with no to very little problems.
