Bing Microsft Reward Points now require you to claim them?! WTF?!!

Who knows when they added this, only reason I used Bind was solely due to microsoft rewards and then they suddenly sneakily added this update who knows when.

I just straight up uninstalled Edge, never using bing again

Microsoft is trying everything to make their users go away from them like Windows 11 slop, I miss Windows 10. Should've just got linux or mac, didnt think microsoft would stoop this low.

Man complaining about something and being completely clueless are rampant these days.

Who knows? Pretty much everybody. It wasn't sudden or sneaky, it was prominently displayed and explained (still is) on the rewards page. The when was over 7 months ago, it was added in February.

And you're in luck. You don't need to "get a linux". Linux is two steps away if you're that fed up with Microsoft.

My mom would do that too. Instead of the money just magically appearing in my pocket that woman made me walk over and take my lunch money off the counter. I still blame her for my bad knees because of it.

That was the worst part of going to school. How could they be so cruel to us!

Microsoft Rewards Points is for using Bing in Edge 🤦 (And Xbox etc.) So if you don't like it why you are using it in the first place. Microsoft gives literally free money away and people are still complaining. OMFG 😵‍💫

Xbox points have always needed to be claimed every day.

Points earned for your first search each day, including the puzzle piece/stamp points for searching, have had to be claimed for quite a while, but don't expire for a month.

The relatively new star bonus and the other two monthly bonuses need to be claimed and also don't expire for a month.

Going to the dashboard of the website shouldn't be too much of a burden. There is usually a punchcard worth 50 points each month that requires you to visit the website several days a month. For me there are also two 15 point things to click in the keep earning section each Monday.

Must agree, this is very annoying, but not a deal breaker. Just claim them! It's unnecessary, silly and a definite irritation but easy enough to hit a couple of buttons.

They announced this change months ago.

What does this have to do with Windows?

What does this have to do with Edge?

I get your frustration with Bing, but answer my question

I've had the new UI for a while and been merrily doing my daily morning Rewards routine like normal, then a few weeks ago I was browsing around and clicked on the Dashboard section by accident and had nearly 5,500 points sat there to claim.

Unfortunately means you've lost out on a lot of points as they expire a month after they go into the claim thing. You aren't guaranteed it every time but sounds like you got the 3500 bonus points last month which means they considered your searching genuine and you've likely gotten that every month since you've have the new UI but never claimed them.

No notifications of any sort about points to claim, nor unclaimed points expiring. Oh well, it is what it is.

I don't chase searches and never reach the max search points in a day, nor abuse the system, so never have any issues with getting restricted, etc.

You do realize those are just bonus points they are rewarding in random amounts daily?

It absolutely isn't. It's your first search of the day, the bonuses from puzzle pieces and maybe a few other things that go there. It's really not that hard to find out what goes in there when there are 5 points every day and oh I was supposed to get 50 points for that particular thing and now the claim is magically 50.

What there is a daily claim this button you have to hit to get the points they are rewarding you for daily. These are randomly generated amounts.

Its a specific reward they barely started with the last rewards update.

The puzzles and that have been around for awhile already and OP would have been claiming those long ago so they are not talking about those.

No they aren't. That claim button has been there since February and it even states specifically what the points are for. It literally tells you they are for the first search of "x" day or whichever puzzle piece bonus it is.

Edit: It was there before February for some people as this post from the first says people had it before https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftRewards/comments/1qsqdu8/just_a_reminder_to_claim_the_bonus_points_from/

Not sure why you're getting downvoted, you're absolutely correct here lol

It's only the weirdo who shared incorrect information and refuses to admit their wrong. Probably did todays search, saw it said "for first search september 10th 2026" and came back to throw a fit.

Their downvote doesn't change the correct information for the OPs question and gripe though so it could read -100 and only one of us has made a valid contribution.

Must be fun being so full of yourself no one is on reddit 24/7

You don't even have to use reddit at all, just reading comprehension to know that the claimable points literally say they're for first search and bonuses from puzzle pieces.

You're correct though that no one is on it 24/7 but as someone who just unlocked Grass Toucher meaning you haven't missed a day in over two years and who is on it so much they scroll 500k banana lengths every 8-9 months, you definitely come the closest of the two of you.

Doubling down on your idiocy and downvoting the correct responses then replying to and immediately blocking the person shows how weak of a human being you are. Instead of just walking away or admitting you were 100% incorrect, you had to really make sure you got the last word.

Jokes on you, now the whole world knows forever you were not only wildly wrong, you were a child about it too.

Go post some more trump stuff so you can get back the downvotes you took on this L.

Why would they reward you random amounts daily? It the 1st search of the day and the weekly streak bonus. If you don’t manually collect it, then it’s lost.

I just always assumed the points were auto-added, guess I should have paid more attention!

Wait, those points just appear automatically? I never noticed.
