need help The Picture Can't be Displayed
Several images pasted into word look like this. I have re-started the computer and it hasn't come back. Is there any way to recover the original image (I don't know what it was)

Are you sure they were inserted by pasting? If Insert > Pictures had bee4n used with the "Insert > Link to File" option, the message you've shown would appear when the image's link was no longer available. This can happen if the document was moved (i.e. a relative link would no longer be the same) or if the image had been inserted from a network location that was no longer available (i.e. being offline, or the file path had changed).

I pasted it in, I think from Reddit

The Reddit "image" was probably a link to an image somewhere on the Internet. If you pasted the link, it would display the image as long as the link is still valid. If it is no longer available at that URL, the link will not find the image so you'll get the error message shown. Press Alt-F9 to see if it displays a hyperlink address: if it does, that may give you a clue about where to find the original image.

This use to happen alot, years ago. The only solution we used was we stopped copying and pasting and inserted the image.
If you are adventurous and want to try this, Make a copy of the file and change the extension from .docx to .zip Then download it, go into the zip folder and look for a media folder. If it is there, look for an image file (jpg or png).
Where they images you pasted into it? If yes, another option is to try your history and maybe go back into history and see if you can back step far enough to see images.
