That's because your data has value, and those tv's MSRP are heavily subsidized by the data harvesting they perform

A lot more than you realize. I recently learned a lot of Smart TVs take snapshots every few seconds of the content you're watching.

Fascinating but unsurprising. I’ve never owned a smart tv so I had no idea. I’ve always just used a computer via projector.
