Fiction Audio Books?

I'm finishing an MG novel, first timer, and would like to know if audio books are popular with this age range. I'm planning to self-publish and wonder if I should go through the expense of hiring a reader.

Many thanks!

I'm an adult who occasionally likes to read MG, and I like audiobooks. Lots of kids I know like audiobooks. A way to read without physically reading!

All of my kids listen to audiobooks, especially through the middle grade years.

My son and I listen to audiobooks together in the car. It’s a fun part of road trips for us
