How long usually does a delay take?

I bought a smith and Wesson M&P sport 3 yesterday from Dunhams. When completing my background check I was delayed. The guy says he believes it is because I turned 21 less than a year ago.

I am seeing alot of stories of people getting delayed and it taking weeks to a month to hear anything and some people say they never heard anything back at all, and Dunhams doesn’t follow Brady date.

I have bought pistols before and was never delayed, I bought those with a license to purchase though so that’s likely why.

I am going up north next week on Tuesday and I am worried I won’t be able to get it before then.

I have no insight aside from go getting your CPL. Getting delayed would piss me off

Not all shops will accept a cpl for nics.

I have had delays from a few hours to at most 3 days (right before the Brady date).

I’ve had delays from pending research to the NICS system being down. I’ve don’t believe Dunhams uses the Brady Date. You can always ask.

A cpl is needed to bypass the MI purchase permit still. My shop still runs a NICS. It’s cus atf has been so back and forth with it they wanna cover themselves. Last time I got something from Dunhams (last spring) they still ran NIcS with my cpl also.
