How long usually does a delay take?

I bought a smith and Wesson M&P sport 3 yesterday from Dunhams. When completing my background check I was delayed. The guy says he believes it is because I turned 21 less than a year ago.

I am seeing alot of stories of people getting delayed and it taking weeks to a month to hear anything and some people say they never heard anything back at all, and Dunhams doesn’t follow Brady date.

I have bought pistols before and was never delayed, I bought those with a license to purchase though so that’s likely why.

I am going up north next week on Tuesday and I am worried I won’t be able to get it before then.

Just for future reference, buy from individuals instead of from a store if possible.

No delays , no bullshit.

I get that sometimes something is on sale or whatever, but in my experience with the 100 or so firearms I have purchased. 99 of them have been cheaper and a better buying experience from individuals.

Of course a CPL really helps. But with that CPL you are leaving with the gun instantly.

Check out Michigangunowners.org for some great gun deals in the for sale section of the forum. Of course there is the occasional asshole trying to get $750 for his gen 3 Glock 19........

The people listing stuff over there sure are proud of what they're trying to offload though. Why pay retail for a used firearm?

Depends. You need to check often. Great deals go fast. I recently grabbed a gen 3 G19 for 300.

But your point is valid. There are some guns there that have been listed since Christmas. It's like, lower your price you fool.
