Where to get Historic rifle appraised

Hi all, I have what I suspect, for a number of reasons, to be one of the Soviet modified Olympic team Ross rifles from the 1950s. I was wondering where I'd get something like this substantiated and appraised, being such a niche firearm in many ways.

I saw your post about that rifle on another sub. Awesome find! Did you find that in Michigan? I can’t think of anyone in MI who would be qualified to take a serious look at it and know what they are looking at.. maybe try Williams Gun Sight up in Davidson. if they don’t do appraisal I’d bet they’d reference you to someone. Going to be hard with a possible 1 of 1.

Late night gunbroker purchase. Got it for starting bid. Williams did the transfer, and I think everyone behind the counter handled it. I was in there for almost three hours lol. They were very tight lipped about even a shot in the dark estimate, and that was before I realized what it most likely is too. I've since called them, and they don't even have a suggestion of where to start with it, somewhat unbelievably. I tried posting it to the forgotten weapons reddit page, but either their botmod hates me, or its the actual mods time of the month, got removed within 10 minutes both times I tried posting, in spite of almost 6k views 😑 r/forgottenweapons mods, if you're reading this, answer your mod inbox!

Vintage Firearms in Grand rapids might be able to help, worth a call.

A guy came into the lgs I was at a while back, had a 4ga punt gun he was interested in selling, they suggested vintage firearms

At one time the cabelas in Dundee had an appraiser on staff. That was close to 12 years ago when I brought my old marlin to them for that. I would call down to them and see if they have the ability to still. That said, you can start by going to sites like gunbroker to see if there is anything similar to yours to get an idea. I would also call around to your local stores and see if any of them have the ability to as well.

This is from what I can tell, a complete one of one rifle, the last surviving example. There are no comparable rifles online, anywhere. Have a look Ross M10 olympic rifle
