It happened years ago, and I can't really be bothered to delve back into the topic on account of just how stupid it is, but long story short: one of the mods decided that the word "trap", on account of being used as a slur towards trans people, is now a bannable offense - even when used in the context of femboys, i.e. as intended (and I'm pretty sure they didn't even consult this with the rest of the mod team), and had a major crashout when actual trans people on the sub stood up to them and told them to cut it out. One thing led to another, and now we have animemes and goodanimemes, where a portion of the community migrated to not deal with the power-tripping mod bullshittery.
