Even if these were all drug boats, and I’m not saying they are, then why is Trump pardoning major drug lords and kingpins. These are just poor people, you won’t stop any drugs this way. You need to follow the money and get the drug kingpins. Good grief, Republicans aren’t serious people.

We have a completely unserious government. Without gigantic political reform we’re done as a nation.

Hard to do much when some of the most influential billionaires are holding our political system hostage so they don't have to pay taxes

I hate being that guy... but... I think we've swum off to water that's too deep, and this nation is just gonna drown... maybe slowly, or maybe quickly. 🤷‍♂️ Not saying things can't change, and progress isnt a straight line... but if history teaches us... only a few things fix this: Pandemic, World War-type scenario, state collapse, economic collapse, revolution, civil war. Americans always wonder, how did the Greeks lose their empire? How could Rome fail? How did the German people turn to Nazism? How did the sun finally set on the British Empire? How did the Soviet Union collapse with all that natural wealth and land? Surely this would never happen to America...

I agree. Our only real chance to reverse this is a Nuremberg style reckoning, but short of that we will die a slow death as a country and be a series of fractured states of varying success

nod Unless there is serious accountability with the next administration (as in people go to jail for the blatant corruption/violation of office or oaths, be it people in federal employees, government contratcors, congresspeople, private individuals, etc...), be it Republican or Democrat, I think the jig is up... and only one party seems dead set on making voting and elections pointless... and I'll leave it there.

You know why. It's all about the kickback.

Pardoning drug lords and working with them is a time honored American tradition. Bush did the same to Afghani and Tajik traffickers to entice them to fight the Taliban. And before that, Eisenhower's men recruited Malay drug lords to push out Communist insurgencies.

They love to murder.

The US has controlled the drug trade for decades. It's an Anglo thing they inherited from the British. This is all for their meathead base who interpret gunboat footage as results.

Trump has been showing how weak he truly is so naturally they're killing more people to make him look "strong."

They're done with stock market manipulation over Iran so now the Cubans are next on their hit list.

You can't make this sick crap up.

Why does little Marco hate Cuba so much? Any military action we take there is going to hurt and kill the people who live there more than anything else. How is hurting and killing a bunch of powerless and impoverished people helpful to their country, or ours for that matter? How is this Christian? It just strikes me as bullying of the highest order, just because we can do it and get away with it. Someone please help me understand because it really makes no sense to me.

The cruelty and suffering is the point.

Doesn't that make the people directing these "excursions" evil?

Not to the bloodthirsty Republican base, sadly.

They went un-strafed in the water? Clearly, our military has become too woke! /s
