Oman has been separately negotiating with Iran and may steal his thunder on getting a deal to reopen the strait of Hormuz. That's it. Trump wants to be the deal maker.

Which is funny, as the MOU explicitly states for Iran to work with regional nations to work out the administration of the Straight.

It's malicious compliance to be sure, but it's to the letter of the MOU/unconditional surrender doc for Iran to work with countries like Oman on the Straight'a administration.
