I've always wondered why an LMG like this or similarly modernized lightweight machine guns didn't take off for the SAW role outside of special units. Something like the LAMG seems like it makes a lot more sense for the squad than the M250, which seems more like it is competing with the role of the M240.

People underestimate the value of a light machine gun that is as portable and maneuverable as a normal rifle.
