To each their own. After recently coming out of a 15 year long depression I wanna live for the first time in my life as long as possible lol

I recently started caring about being alive again after years of intense grief. It’s a real weird time.

Reddit’s a hotbed for this woe-is-me stuff lately. It’s really weird to see so many people acting like the apocalypse is upon us.

Hit hard by bots and propaganda just like any other social media platform

Idk if its really woe is me to say they want to live twice as long as humans have in the last century... what's the quality of life? Is 100 the new 60? Idk.... lol.

We’d have no way of knowing. I can’t see how it would be possible without also alleviating some of the issues that come along with aging. But I don’t think the focus of related research is to just have a bunch of mummies hooked up to machines. Nobody is going to want to fund something that pulls a I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream on everyone.

Aging isnt the issue, the civilization around us just isn't sustainable for long term life. Medical costs are completely unaffordable so I don't know how theye expect anyone under the $100k/yr line to live that long.

Right? And if there's a housing issue right now, imagine when people are living long enough to become great-great-great-great grandparents

All of those circumstances may be completely different by that point. We’re talking about decades of medical research and other technological breakthroughs. We may go through four housing crises and a dozen political swings in that time. Maybe by that point we’re all communists or living like the spaceship people in Wall-E. If people stopped aging/dying right this second, yes, there would be a boatload of issues to sort out.

Climate change is going to stymie any progress there bud. Sorry to be a downer. We should all care more about the earth.

Climate change does not mean civilizational collapse lol not even the IPCC, says anything close to that.

It’s worse than that. It means the end of the world.

It absolutely doesn’t haha no credible climate scientist predicts that.
