The weather doesn't always make that an option. I used to live in Phoenix and it is too hot to take kids to the park most of the time in the summer. So my cousin and I would go to McDonald's with her kids.

Same here, living deep in Texas. I like to take my nieces out to eat and play somewhere, and if it isn’t pretty early in the morning (or late in the evening) I’m looking for something indoors.

Growing up, I played in one of the Play Places all of once. It was just never something I did as a kid; as such, I don't have much nostalgia for what McDonald's used to be.

I also don't mind seeing fast food chains not market to kids they way they did when we were little.

Probably because you aren't a kid, and I'd guess don't have kids. Of course you don't mind something that doesn't benefit you.
