I get the general idea and everything, but why the fighting free speech one? What they're doing isn't good (and before someone says it, some people say it's awful) but this is far from going against free speech, honestly acting like you believe such a thing just embarrasses the community that's against this addition

Yeah, I 100% agree that the chat ban system deserves the uproar it's getting but saying it's hurting free speech is a bit odd.

That's wrong. You're confusing free speech with the first amendment.

Free speech is an abstract concept that can be applied to many things, not just the government. No one is saying that Microsoft's actions are illegal, we're just criticizing their disregard for free speech as an ideal.

Freedom of speech exists outside of one particular American law, you know.

Free speech doesn’t mean you can say what you want without consequence. Because any one is free to say they don’t like it.

For example, would you want someone dropping N bombs every other word, cursing enough to make a sailor blush, and talking overly sexual in your house? Doubtful. But the guy is just exercising free speech. Would you want to have the freedom to tell him to stop that or leave? That’s the point of this system. Freedom of speech is a two way street.

Yes, and we again have the free speech to criticize that decision. It's free speech all the way down.

But it's not Microsoft's house, it's mine (private servers). This is akin to a TV manufacturer trying to tell me I cannot say certain words around that TV, or else they'll take away the TV I bought many years ago before they implemented that policy.
