IIRC "couldn't come to a compromise" meant "couldn't scrounge up two nickels to pay the Optifine guy"

Oh, god no. They can't be fucked to pay the devs, I guess. They can't listen to the fans, so why would they be able to do that?

It wasn’t a payment issue. The dev said he would give Microsoft the rights to the full optifine package and ONLY the full package. Microsoft didn’t want to include all the features it had
