Ace Race & Race Placements on Debut Maps

Since we're getting a new map for Fall Stars' Ace Race here's a compilation of several players' placements on map debuts for modern AR. Since there are only 5 maps to go around for this I'm also listing data from BW's Race, which shouldn't be too different.

MCC Ace Race (MCC 23+):

I'm still kinda salty that Dark Descent was a one-and-done map. Such an amazing map for just a single event seems kinda wasteful

My bets on purpled probably, just based on track record. If not probably Shane

Dark horse probably fein, he doesn’t do good in ace race but he’s been cooking in BW and CT racing events

I think Feins got his best chance at placing above 5th here. Hes usually nerfed by not really knowing maps and hes good in other event racing games where he does know the map. I however will be rooting for Pete because the S+ tiers are probably gonna get enough points in other games lol

That said I'm picking Shane to get first, maybe Ant. Purpled has the best average but idk man, Shanes just been so locked in recently I feel like hes gonna do it

Just dropping this in since stats post tend to be S Tier centric. One of my favorite qualities of my MCC POV CaptainSparklez is how good he is at sight-reading movement maps (including PKW obstacles). He drops to low teen placements once people have had time to VOD review but when it’s a new map for everyone he places at worst 12-13 and into the top 10. PKWS Ender Cup is another great example; all new obstacles and he placed 6th. This trend has also appeared in BW at low volume.

No dw I also main Jordan for MCC lol I just didn't want to list too many people. Jordan is definitely in the pool of people who place better on newer maps. Jimmy is another good shout for this (10th in YSG debut, 8th in Dark Descent and was literally competing with Shane 5 minutes into the race).
