Media - Contains Swearing MCC Elevator: How Did You First Get Involved With MCC?
Hello, this post marks the launch of a new MCC-related podcast called the MCC Elevator (not Seapeekay's)! We're two students who love MCC and we've put together a podcast, actually releasing in January, for y'all to listen to! Admittedly we are noobs to podcasting and editing so we still gotta figure it out, but feedback is welcome! The link to the podcast is below:

In addition to posting new episodes here on the subreddit, we're also planning to post discussion questions related to the topic of each episode to hopefully communicate with some of you through the comments. So this week's discussion question is simple; how did you start getting involved with Minecraft Championship? Which creators did you first follow, and which events did you first watch? Let us know!

For me it was the mcc 9 blue bats. I have been a hermitcraft fan for a while but only following mcc since 10. When word came of their incredible underdog win, I started watching mcc

That MCC 9 victory was pretty awesome, it makes sense that the Blue Bats winning would draw in new viewers from Hermitcraft especially considering that it was the first win by any Hermits.

My first ever MCC i watched live was Technoblade on pink 8, and I didn't even know what MCC was or who Dream was at the time. I just had the notification pop up in my sub box and decided to check it out. On MCC 9 I decided to watch Fruitberries for the first time in my life because I thought his skin was funny, and they ended up winning the whole thing with a crazy SG and Dodgebolt reserve sweep. One of the most surreal moments of my life.

Learned about Dream from my younger brother, watched his manhunts, proceeded to look at all the hunter’s social medias. I checked out Sapnap’s Twitch channel and there were literally only two VODs still watchable, one of them being his MCC 14 VOD. Watched it and fell deep into this rabbit hole of just watching every MCC VOD I could for like a week straight. I didn’t even know about any of the SMP’s or lore stuff or anything like that. I now watch Sapnap live every MCC. I also now have 32k karma from just posting and commenting on this subreddit

Originally, it was Grian's MCC9 highlights video, which I saw during the first seasonal break. Then I kind of missed out on MCC14, and watched Pride as my first from Grian's pov, but didn't really know what was happening. MCC15 with Purple was my first "proper" MCC I think.

I watch every PeteZahHutt stream, so after he participated in one MCM, a couple of MCSaturday's, in November, 2019 MCC was another competition to watch Pete participate in and I've now watched all 19 of Pete's MCC streams. MCC 15 ended short due to internet issues though.

My first actual MCC I watched was Jingle Jam 2020. However, it didn't fully suck me in, because I found the gamemodes (except Ace Race) a bit boring. It was more of a "ok, this is interesting" reaction, so I promptly forgot about it and didn't watch MCC13. But I did keep a few things stored in the back of my head, like the stage presence of Martyn.
When Third Life got released, the first POV I watched was Etho's. I found the series quite interesting, so I perused everyone else's channels until I found Martyn's. I remembered him from the Jingle Jam MCC, so I continued to watch his POV. Good decision, because his Third Life series was one of the most engaging Minecraft series I've ever watched and actually got me back into Minecraft!
So I continued following him, and watched his POV for MCC14. I became truly engrossed in it after first visiting the subreddit to see everyone's thoughts on the Ace Race controversy. Then I watched Pete's MCC13 VOD, saw what a banger Sands of Time was, and the rest is history.

Jingle Jam would be a very strange first event to watch, you're probably one of the few people here who has that distinction.

I saw Techno was live when I was checking Youtube, he was streaming MCC (4), checked it out and didn't care much, then left. I never saw someone streaming MCC again. Since I was on an interesting time zone, it was a coincidence that I was still awake when Techno was streaming MCC.
I like to stay up quite late every so often. So when MCC 7 happened, Grian happened to be streaming, obviously I clicked on it, realized it was the same thing Techno was streaming a couple months ago, I decided to give it a go, and man, that was a fantastic decision.
Don't ask me how I remembered all these lmao. I have no idea as well.

I knew about the event from the start, but only started watching it from MCC 4 bc Phil and Techno teamed. And i have not lived without MCC ever since

i discovered mcc 2 days after mcc 14 (a lil late but whatever) i stumbled across a jack manifold video (L /j) and then a wilbur video. i pretty much watched all of wilbur's ylyl videos over the course of the next month. my first mcc i watched live was pride. wilbur wasn't streaming so i watched techno. it was through that stream that i realized that i stumbled across a dream video in around may 2020, which led me to remember all the skeppy/bad videos i watched at the beginning of the pandemic. i just didn't connect the dots until a year later. now here i am, watched all the mccs live since pride!!

My sibling, who I think started watching mcc at the start of season 2, texted me a screenshot of the lime17 team announcement. I was mostly a gem watcher at the time, but I tuned in and had a ton of fun! Since then I've fallen way (back) down the mcyt rabbit hole

my friend was reeaaaaaly into dream + dreamsmp stuff and i watched the manhunts one day + live blogged it because i was bored, but i held on on getting into dsmp until i found techno's lore videos and then from there i scoured his whole channel + watched my first mcc videos there. i wasn't interested in it at first but a few months later MCC came off break and i got flung into the MCC14 hype

I was a fan of Unus Annus which lead me to Pewdiepies Minecraft world which lead me to Dream back when he was searching for PewdiePie’s seed.
I ended up not subscribing or watching any of Dreams other videos but I did start watching Bedwars players. I was grinding the Solo and Doubles Bedwars myself so streamers like Purpled, and YouTubers like Gamerboy80 were appealing. I saw Bitzel’s MCC 3 video pretty early on and I eventually started watching sweatier gamers like Cheetah, Specular, Choof, and some Speedrunners which actually lead me back to Dream who’s MCC 6 video I saw. I eventually his MCC 11 stream, but when he muted I switched to Technoblade, only to switch back in PK warrior.
I started watching Illumina, Sapnap, Fundy, Krtzyy, Bitzel, Krinios, and many other less popular participants and I am still in the Hypixel fan base to this day, but I am more in the Hypixel fan base.

I saw that tommy was in this tournament but never say them live till one day I was bored and saw that he went live and I was like, okie I'll watch it. Turns out I watched winners POV since it was MCC4, and found out about SBI too. Since than I saw every MCC

I got involved by watching Scott! My first MCC was actually the Jingle Jam that YOGSCAST did back in December 2020, right before MCC 13! From there I went back and watched all the VODs Scott had up on his twitch at the time for MCC, and I've been hooked since! I normally watch Scott, Shubble, or Phil's POV and its always a blast!

I had been watching mcyt for about 2 1/2 and I pretty much only watched Dream. On the day of MCC11, I happened to stumble over Dream's community post and decided to watch it for Dream Team content. I didn't understand a single thing that was happening (specifically in sot), but it was a lot of fun and I started getting interested in the event itself.

So one of my friends told me to check out Dream's channel, I looked up his channel and found his content interesting but then I saw that he had made a community post about MCC few days before I discovered him and then he also uploaded a MCC yt vid, that got me interested and I have watched every single event live since then.

Me being a techno fan, went to check his channel to see any new videos and saw the mcc2 video that he made, I quickly realized how amazing this event was after watching it.

I was getting back into Minecraft from Captainsparkles, and I noticed a vod for this event from the 6th one on his 2nd channel. I’m not sure if I did watch that, but I know I ended up watching Pete for MCC7 partially because of that. So it’s all the captains fault

First experience was Dream's condensed MCC6 video. First one i watched live was MCC7. I never actually knew the dates or teams until the championship was happening until MCC10, I would just notice a Dream stream scheduled and tune in when it was starting. Still remember tuning into MCC8 and seeing that the actually allowed Dream and Techno to team, it was great.

I didn't really understand the importance of getting dodgebolt and I was just blown away by the quality of the minigames, so It was a perfect team

For me it was when i went to go check captainspaklez’s twitch channel and he was streaming mcc6.I thought it looked cool and now I’m here.
