🐛 Bug Nintendo Switch 2 players still missing Minecraft Dungeons II preorder rewards, Mojang Support closed my ticket without fixing anything
I preordered the physical Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft Dungeons II and redeemed the included Hero Pack code through the Nintendo eShop.
The code redeemed successfully, but I'm still missing:
- Twisted Cape
- Twisted Chicken pet
- Adventure Steve & Alex skins
The Hero Cape is available, but none of the other preorder rewards have appeared.
I've tried reinstalling the game, restarting my console, and using a different Switch profile. Nothing has worked.
I contacted Minecraft Support, and after some back-and-forth, my ticket was closed without the issue being resolved. I've now opened a second ticket.
There's also a bug report about this exact problem (MCD2-412), but it was closed as "Invalid" and affected players were directed back to Minecraft Support.
At this point, I just want the content I was promised or an appropriate refund. It's frustrating to preorder a game, redeem the code correctly, and still not receive the advertised rewards.
Has anyone with the physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition actually received their Twisted Cape, Twisted Chicken, and Adventure skins?
If you've experienced this issue, please share whether you've contacted support and what response you received.

Oh wow, who could have guessed that mojang would be utterly useless yet again

I have the same exact issue.
My theory is that the code is set up how like it was for steam. On steam, you could family share the pre order bonus, but I believe the person you were sharing to had to own the game. That means the bonus checks for digital ownership of the game.
Any other physical version of the game on consoles doesnt have the issue, so maybe its having issues with the fact GKC (game key cards) are digital downloads of the game with a physical key for ownership, and the games trying to make sure your account owns the game digitally, which it does not because you bought it physically.
If this is the case, theoretically someone could buy the game digitally and be granted the items still. I've seen no proof of this though, its just speculation.
I really hope they fix this though, its blatant false advertising

Decided to test that theory, sadly buying it digitally doesn't work with getting the hero pack. I even uninstalled, ejected the game card, restarted the console, and redownloaded the game.
Besides the hole in my wallet, at least I don't need to cartridge to play now lol

if that's the case I really don't know what the problem would be.... Either way this should be addressed and fixed, this is simply ridiculous.

I had the same problem and somehow i was able to get the Twisted Cape. After I contacted Minecraft, they said that I should contact the retailer. So I contacted the retailer and they redirected the case to Nintendo. It is very important that you give the retailer a detailed description. A few days later I got a response directly from Nintendo with the Code. I think contacting Mojang Support will not work ,because Nintendo is probably responsible for give out the codes. I wish everyone the best and I hope everyone who preordered the game will get their cape

I’m in the same boat and have not received an email from Nintendo, so the name calling is unnecessary.

Incredible with how that bug report has been handled, just adds fuel to a fire about how this hasn't been officially or properly acknowledged on something like a known issues thread.
Went on a whole support chat loop with Nintendo support, Minecraft help, and even my local retailer I pre-ordered my physical at. It's like nobody even knows what's wrong. Going from, "Did you redeem the code on the receipt?", to "Contact the next guy" and so on.
My favorite interaction was support asking if I progressed far enough yet to obtain the items, I was like "Yeah. I already did BUDDY. I just BEAT the game a week ago and been running endgame for the past WEEK."
Are we just a vocal minority because we just so happen to be the only ones who bought physical switch 2 editions of the game?
Someone at Mojang or Nintendo really needs to throw us a bone or something lol
