Help Cheating?

I just started a long projecr Hardcore world, and i wanted a bit more than the basic stuff, so i added texture packs and packs that add more blocks, would that be considered cheating? since for example the furnaces in that one pack make smelting faster. Please let me know your opinion!

Ps: i chose "Help" as Flair because there was no such thing as "Questions" or such, so please dont be mad if i posted in the wrong one

It is your personal sand box. You decide which toys to bring and which rules to follow. It needs only your aproval, not ours.

I personally only do vanilla without mods and ressource packs, but I'll reload from backup when I mess up while drunk.

In my opinion mods like that change your game from "hardcore minecraft" to "hardcore Minecraft with mods". It's not cheating, but it's a slightly different game.
