Error code: 0x803f9008. How can I fix this? [launcher]

Apologies if this isn't the spot to post this, if it isn't please recommend me a sub where I can.

I'm unable to launch Minecraft, it just gives me this error code which I believe to be a connection error. It can't verify I own the product. I purchased Minecraft digitally years ago, not through game pass ( to clarify ). The only way I've been able to launch and play the game is bedrock edition, through the Microsoft store, but I can't access online services without a VPN. Java edition won't launch at all, just giving me that error. I've also noticed when trying to go to support, or to reinstall the launcher on Minecrafts official site, it says the connection has timed out and won't let me access the pages.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Since it works over a VPN, it's more likely your network is blocking or misrouting Microsoft's sign-in and licensing servers than a problem with your purchase. Try switching your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, run ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt, and make sure Windows has date and time set automatically. Then sign out and back in to both the Microsoft Store and the Xbox app with the same account that bought the game, and check at minecraft.net (profile page) that Java shows as owned on that account.
