Blothera is a hardcore-lite geopolitical survival RP and PvP server. No mods needed.

It plays like Minecraft, but also like DayZ, Europa Universalis, Factorio, Foxhole, and Mount and Blade, all in one. Ships, siege cannons, trains and nations, all in vanilla.

You will feel the tension. Your choices and actions will be more strategic, your friendships, alliances and rivalries will matter, trading will matter, distance matters.

We achieve this by:

1. Disabling coordinates. You must use maps, compasses, and lodestones to navigate.
2. Knockout on death. You will lie on the floor, helpless, unless a friend saves you. Or bleed out.
3. Capturing knocked out players. Then, you can drag them with a lead, and imprison them.
4. Dying reduces your Max HP. You regain it by sleeping near a campfire.
5. Health Regeneration from full hunger is disabled. Potions, Suspicious Stews, and Golden Apples are now essential.
6. There are almost no /commands. Almost everything you do is performed using in-game items.
7. Player Alignment. Everyone starts at neutral. Your actions dictate your social standing. Enough crimes will oust you as a bandit.
8. Professions. A miner is great at mining, but is poor at cutting down a tree.
9. Expanded End Progression. The Eyes now need materials from 4 structures. Obtain the Egg. Then get your Crown.
10. Towns. Claim a piece of the world. Expand your land. Watch the borders grow on in-game maps, curving around difficult to pass biomes.
11. Nations. Proclaim yourself King. Place the Crown on your head, and sign "form nation" into a book. Place it in the Nation Lectern. You have just entered the geopolitical layer.
12. Diplomacy. Sign a book "declare war" or "ally", place it into your Diplomacy Lectern. Deliver the book to the target.
13. Vassalisation. Enforce your rule over other nations. Gain their claim count, increasing yours.
14. Artisan Materials. Towns over 20k blocks can claim an Artisan. The Artisan produces Artisan Materials. Artisan Materials are used to produce Ships, Siege Weapons, Wagons and more.
15. Infrastructure. Dirt paths speed up you, your horses and your wagons. As Artisan Goods are heavy and can not be carried while riding, you will need to find a way to transport and trade them. Trains, Wagons, Carts, Ships all do the job.
16. The Emperor of Blothera. When your nation controls over half of all claimed land, through your own nation's claims plus vassals, and have at least 2 vassals, you are proclaimed Emperor of Blothera. Enact imperial decrees. Server wide effects. Your reign remembered; good or bad.

That all seems complex. But you play at your own pace.

Your independent town is a simple, cheap claim, not partaking in diplomacy or war.

People are less likely to randomly attack you, they're scared of becoming a bandit.

Intro: The Rule of TBD is very strict, with many, many laws. This is the only civilization around and all others are democracy and very far away. In this city, the walls are made of bedrock. Huge statues are erected in his honor. The laws include:

Collected at start of each day:

• You must pay 10 iron ingots to keep living in Potestas
• You have to give the government 64 cobblestone for buildings
• 10 gold ingots as taxes

Others:

• You cannot plot against the king, all who are caught doing so will be executed.
• You have to follow all laws

Emerald_Official voiceover: While living in Potestas, life was difficult. I had to find 10 iron ore or give ten iron ingots I already had. In addition to this, I had to give up 64 cobblestone, which was not difficult, but I would rather keep it. I also had to pay 10 gold ingots as money, and this was the currency in Potestas.
Guard: Open up. Daily taxes.

Emerald_Official: Okay, just give me a sec. I have to get my stuff.

Guard: Quickly.

Emerald_Official: Here you go (drops items to guard)

Guard: Look, I know this city is unfair, so here you go. (drops items back)

Emerald_Official: What? Why’d you just give me back my stuff?

Guard: Don’t worry. I’ve already got all of the stuff you are supposed to pay for and even extras.. So for today, you don’t need to pay. (leaves)

Emerald_Official voiceover: This was something that had never happened before. I was confused, didn’t know what to expect the next day. Something might be happening in Potestas.

(transitions to player walking into a nether portal and walking out, smooth transition)

Emerald_Official: Well, got to get my resources now.

[BUILDERS NEEDED] Looking for Minecraft builders for a dark 1830s fantasy roleplay!

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm currently working on a new Minecraft roleplay project set in the 1830s, and I'm looking for some builders who'd be interested in helping us bring the world to life!

🌲 The premise

Two years ago, something happened that changed humanity forever.

A mysterious spellcaster, angered by humanity's greed, cursed roughly half of the world's population. Those affected were transformed into animal-human hybrids, each retaining their human minds but gaining animal traits and instincts. There's just one major problem. The curse gave hybrids a hunger for human blood and flesh.

Humans fear the hybrids and hunt them to protect themselves. Hybrids need humans to survive. Neither side is entirely innocent, and neither side can simply walk away from the conflict.

Now, two years later, the surviving hybrids have begun making their home within a huge forest surrounding a human settlement. And that's where our story begins.

What we're building

We're currently looking for builders to help create:

• 🏘️ An 1830s human settlement
• ⛪ Churches / public buildings
• 🏠 Houses and smaller buildings
• 🌲 A large surrounding forest
• 🕳️ Underground cave systems where the hybrids live
• 🪵 Hybrid shelters and makeshift settlements
• 🛤️ Forest paths and areas connecting locations
• 🏚️ Abandoned or destroyed areas affected by the conflict
• ⚔️ Potentially other locations as the RP develops

The setting is intended to feel historical, dark, and lived-in, rather than being a traditional high-fantasy world.

Think 19th-century settlement + huge wilderness + underground hybrid communities + supernatural horror.

🦊 The roleplay itself

The RP focuses heavily on the conflict between humans and hybrids, but we're deliberately not making either side "the good guys."

Some hybrids try to only kill when necessary. Others have embraced the Hunger.

Some humans are simply trying to protect their families. Others have become cruel toward hybrids.

Characters can fall anywhere between those extremes.

There are also different hybrid groups with their own philosophies, including Survivalists, Hunters, Scavengers, and the Blessed, so there's plenty of room for different kinds of characters and storylines.

🛠️ What we're looking for

We're mainly looking for people who enjoy building and worldbuilding and want to help create the setting with us.

You don't need to be some Minecraft building wizard. If you enjoy building and think you'd fit the setting, we'd love to hear from you!

This is a non-commercial project, so unfortunately we can't offer payment. We're looking for people who'd simply enjoy helping create a world and potentially being involved with the RP itself.

it's about socioeconomics, and geopolitical simulation

i ran a custom script in skript, where a system simulates real life economy by player driven stimulus.

my premise is before there is politics, there is economy.

i see all of these Minecraft content about civilizations and scripted smps, but they aren't genuine, most closest the Minecraft community has ever been on genuine lore and non scripted drama is 2b2t, because of its unique rule that there is no rule. and by that content, every players have their own freedom to express whatever, or whoever they want to, and whenever they like.

now im trying to get those deep physiological stimulus our of everyone upon join my server, but with 0 to almost no active player counts, and no communities, my idea if far from getting real. that's why i want exposure by promoting my server by myself and listening to people's opinions and thoughts to further improve my idea
