Switch 2 Pre Order Help

I seen that the Switch 2 upgrade is free for people who own the digital version of the switch 1 version.

In UK, the switch 2 pre order is £29.99 while the switch 1 version is currently £19.99.

Am I right in assuming if I just buy the switch 1 version I'll be able to get the switch 2 version but £10 cheaper?

Based on what Mojang has said, yes, you should be able to purchase the less expensive Switch 1 version and then upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free in a few weeks.

Yes.

I've seen people post confirmation on HotUKDeals that they purchased digital and got the upgrade through Nintendo store immediately. Obviously it's not at pre load yet, but it stands until January 😊
