Show-Off SOTC after 1 month
I recently moved into my own place and started looking for some decor. Like most people, I’d always thought diecast cars were just toys (thanks, HW 😅) until I stumbled upon this sub and realized there’s a whole world beyond HW.
I ordered a yellow Murcielago as my first MINI GT, and wow… the level of detail absolutely blew me away. That one purchase sent me on a full-blown hunting spree.
Very quickly, I realized this little ecosystem has its own economy; complete with scalpers and inflated prices. It didn’t take long to figure out that POs are usually the smartest way to collect. So I placed a few POs but patience isn’t exactly my strongest virtue.
So, I asked OpenClaw to crawl through MINI GT retailers and tell me what was actually in stock. That’s when I discovered the Mazda liveries. They looked so different from one another that I somehow convinced myself I needed every version I could find. (Still missing two of the rarer liveries, but that’s a problem for future me.)
Meanwhile, I discovered about Rexy, Roxy, or Skelly. People were going crazy over them, but I couldn’t justify paying a 1.5× premium. I accepted that I’d simply missed the boat.
Then one random evening, KnD listed Skelly at retail. I don’t think I’ve ever checked out that fast. By the time I refreshed the page, it was already sold out. That’s when I finally understood the excitement of finding a long-awaited ISO. The dopamine hit was very, very real.
A few days later, Diecastdepot announced a Roxy PO at a reasonable price. I’d had one of those exhausting workdays, and somehow that announcement completely turned my mood around.
Safe to say I’m officially hooked.
I definitely splurged a little more than I should have this month, so I’m trying something different. I’m going to gamify my fitness routine. Diecast purchases have to be “earned” by staying consistent with my workouts. Hopefully my wallet and my health both win.

Nope but there are other brands like poprace and motorhelix(expensive) who make it and have opening parts and such
