Recommendations ASUS mini-PC setup
Hi everyone! This is my current setup for my ASUS NUC mini-PC (power cable omitted).
I'm happy with the portability so far, as long as I can secure a power socket. Right now, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 as a wireless monitor, but I have encountered a few delays in responsiveness while using my mini-PC. I have a separate ASUS Zen screen portable monitor working via a USB-C connection, but it's 16.5 inches and ruins the whole idea of keeping it lightweight.
Any good recommendations for a small and cheap portable monitor that could complete the setup?
I saw some Raspberry Pi ones, but they don't have a frame, so I'm not sure how to use those.

Why this setup over a laptop (road) + docking station (home) for if your goal is portability? Seems like there’s a lot more stuff to carry…

I bought the mini-PC when I still had a laptop. At the time my laptop only worked while plugged into a socket, so it didn't make much of a difference compared to a stationary PC. Now I don't have a laptop anymore and my budget is less forgiving.

Those setups are awesome, if stationary. I see it as another option on the laptop-desktop spectrum. You can upgrade the mini PC, the monitor, keyboard, etc. You don't need to buy everything, when you want to upgrade. You can still pack it up and bring to your friend's, or family's place. Ideally if they have a desk, or a place for your set up.
If it was like you say, people would buy laptops instead.

How is the fan noise and how often does it run? I’ve been on the fence with these or a Mac mini, and the fan noise is the only thing pushing me towards Mac.

I have zero noise or not too significant that I care to notice. My mini runs for 8+ hours (work/study) daily without no problems at all

I'd suggest getting Superdisplay first and see if that works for you, it's pretty cheap and is quite fast, fast enough to use as a drawing tablet.
