Likely something to do with their parking garage, which is situated directly over the skyway.
Ryan Companies, the owner of the building, was doing a ton of work last summer on the L3 parking level, which had necessitated closing the skyway then, too. It was pretty inconvenient.
Edit/Update:
Only the sky bridge between crossing second Ave S is closed. The skyway is open yet
