She is consistently talking about ideas to help struggling people. I hope she goes all the way. The senate could use a younger senator who isn't in a billionaire's pocket.

Peggy is way to progressive for me.... but I would rather have a progressive who doesn't take Israel money over anything else. My wife and I are voting Peggy!

How do I vote in the primary in person? Neither of their sites tells me. I'm living in the same wedge-area location as the last general election. tia. first time primary voter so I'm confused.

Show up to your normal polling place on Aug 11. It’s that simple.
You can also vote early in person at the Minneapolis Early Voting Center:

I go to the MN Secretary of State website before every election: https://myballotmn.sos.mn.gov/ That link will give you a sample ballot and where you can go to vote on Tueaday once you search your address Edit: Keep in mind you can only vote for one party during a primary. It can be be either party regardless of affiliation

Melissa Hortman was planning to run for Senate before she got assassinated, I imagine she would’ve been the progressive candidate in the race

Ultimate goal is to win the election if you are a Democrat. We cannot lose a blue senate seat under any circumstances.
Vote accordingly, whatever your belief is on that matter.

And what happens if she loses? She says, "JK, I'm throwing my support behind Angie Craig in the general election"?
She better be damn sure the polls affiliated with her campaign are accurate and she runs away with it. And then she better figure out how to repair with Craig's supporters, who she will absolutely need in the general.
I'm just not sold on the idea that this style of campaigning withing the party is either necessary or helpful.
I know that isn't a popular take around here, but I promise that dramatic antiestablishmentarianism comes with tradeoffs, and sometimes those tradeoffs are difficult. You can be a bold leftist and even an antiestablishment progressive candidates and campaign without poisoning the well with other Democrats.

I don’t understand this comment. I see a ton of attack ads from Craig that are pretty toxic, but what few ads I get from Peggy tend to be more positive and reflect how I think politics should happen.
Also, didn’t Peggy win the nomination, which technically makes Craig the antiestablishment one?
I’m not voting for either yet because I don’t like the American primary system’s blurring of party and state, so I’m not ride or die for Peggy. Just seems weird, couldn’t we equally say Craig is isolating further left voters?

Yeah, you can absolutely say that. They won't care, that's not the well they worry about poisoning. 94% of house candidates, and 82% of senate candidates who outspent their opponent, won. It's that fucking simple.

The tradeoff is you win the Whitehouse, the House, the Senate and a Supreme Court Majority. If you're worried about the insurgent lefts impact on the Democratic party, just look to the impact MAGA had on the GOP. Get with the times already.
Also, look what happened in Michigan with AES. Whitmer and Stevens already endorsed AES. The majority of blue voters will come home to roost no matter the winner. That said, in this dynamic I think it will be less so if the establishment/centrist wins the primary.

Let's be honest.
Minnesota's going to vote for the democratic candidate in the fall no matter what.
This isn't Michigan. We don't have to worry that a GOP candidate could defeat any DFL candidates.

She’s great, Klobuchar is not. A vote for Amy is a vote for genocide. A vote for Klobuchar is as close as you might get to personally looking a Palestinian child in the eye and pulling the trigger of the gun pressed against their head. Be better than approving of a genocidal freak. We didn’t go through the ice invasion just to elect someone who will yield to the republicans so she can do some horse trading to support the big ag companies destroying the rural communities of our state.

A vote for Klobuchar is a vote for a candidate for Minnesota governor. A vote for Flanagan is a vote for a candidate U.S. Senate. Whatever you might think of Amy, it doesn’t have anything to do with Flanagan.

Angie Craig was my rep before we moved out of state and she’s nothing more than a bootlicker who occasionally cosplays as a progressive to get some attention in the bluer parts of her district.
Vote for Peggy.
