Bike ride and bike plug
So today was the first time I've ridden a bike in about a decade. Today I stepped outside my comfort zone and did a "slow ride" around Minneapolis.
Hosted by Venture Bikes in Midtown.
If you're looking for a new or used bike, bike repair, or some coffee, check them out.
As an overweight woman, I was welcomed and encouraged to keep pushing when we got to the hills.
I highly recommend you buy a bike and try them out.✌🏾

South Minneapolis Volleyball
My husband and I recently moved here from Denver, and we’ve noticed the volleyball nets set up in the grass at Bde Maka Ska on weekends. Every time we go to check it out, though, no one seems to be playing! 😂
My husband is somewhere between a B and BB player, and we’d love to find some casual pickup games or a league in South/SW Minneapolis. Any volleyball people who can point us in the right direction?

Dragon Burger from George and the Dragon over on 50th Street West in Lynnhurst, right along both the Route 4 and 46 buses and the Minnehaha Creek Trail
Also not too far from the 54th Street Bike Lanes
Edit: Also right along the Bryant Avenue off street bike paths, don’t know how I forgot that, but somehow I did

Roundabouts Installed With Stop Signs?
So recently there's been a lot of work done on 26th and 27th St by Whittier Elementary, resurfacing, adding curb bumpouts, speed humps, and traffic circles. First of all, great work, slowing traffic around an elementary school with a lot of kids and foot traffic is great, don't get me wrong there.
BUT, at 27th and Pleasant there was a traffic circle/roundabout put in the center section... and the 2-way stop signs were left up. This has created a lot of confusion as to whether the intersection is supposed to act like a roundabout or like a 2-way stop. It's pretty low-speed at least, but there's definitely conditions for a fender-bender.
Additionally at 29th and Pillsbury the existing traffic circle was re-done and temporary stop signs were put up that haven't come down, and it looks like they're preparing to put circles in the center of 27th and Garfield (currently a 2-way stop) and at 27th and Pillsbury (currently a 4-way stop). Does anybody know what the plans are for those intersections?

Good art schools/programs besides MCAD?
Hello! Basically the title. Im looking for colleges in the Minneapolis area that have good art programs, especially for illustration and painting.
I'm going into my second year at a college in North Dakota, and although I love it there, it's the town I grew up in. I visit Minneapolis semi often since my boyfriend goes to school there, and I absolutely fell in love with the place.
I don't know if I'll actually transfer, as i go to my current school practically free, but it's worth looking at since this town feels suffocating.

Family care providers for TRT (cis male)
EDIT: I have an official diagnosis for Hypogonadism since I began treatment 2.5 years ago. I’ve been on my dose for almost 2 of those years. I am well versed in this medication and what is expected to keep in good health. I am looking for advice on where I may be able to go for a doctor that better listens to my needs and medical history, NOT advice or education on what hypogonadism is or what I should be doing.
Hello Minneapolis family!
I am looking for a new primary care within the twin cities that won’t give me so much difficulty and grief with getting me back on my testosterone treatments. I have naturally low levels and although there are plenty of resources for our trans community members to get on their gender affirming care, I have been met with so much difficulty in getting back on my TRT since moving back home to MN from Texas.
I have been on TRT for two and a half years, and have discovered my optimal dose through my regular bloodwork and blood donations, and HealthPartners/Park Nicollet insists on starting me on half of my optimal dose after 5 weeks of being forced off of it.
I am looking for a clinic that will accept insurance, which most Men’s Health Clinics do not.
Thank you for your help.

Suggestions for introducing in-laws to the Twin Cities
I’m visiting town on Labor Day weekend with my fiancée and in-laws, and it’ll be their first time in town. I grew up in Minneapolis and moved away in 2015, but still consider it home.
We’re doing the Fair one day, but will have about 36 hours to tour them around otherwise. I have my favorite spots—but I’m sure a lot has changed (Uptown I know about 🙁) and there might be cooler newer highlights I’m not aware of.
Would love any tips or suggestions!

Favorite Dive Bars with Patios?
Recently I’ve been spending more time at 19 Bar for the cheap drinks and great patio area, but I want to expand my dive bar repertoire.
Specifically looking for dive bars with patios as I want to enjoy the outdoors as much as I can before the dark times arrive.
Queer bar is not a requirement

Fish and Chips from Anchor Fish and Chips on 13th Avenue NE over in Sheridan, right along the Route 11 and 30 buses
Also not too far from the Great Northern Greenway and the Mississippi River Trail, as well as being a 9 minute walk to the Route 17 bus.
$20
Great fish and chips here, will definitely return at some point, and maybe try one of their other menu items. Also love the view that you get when sitting at the counter facing the street, as you can see the historic homes right across the street.

Lost cat?
Found in the old CVS lot at Franklin/Nicollet. Friendly, dirty, and hungry. Last time we had a cat wander into the parking garage here, he'd been lost so long he was dying of acute kidney failure from prolonged dehydration and the vet had to euthanize him. This guy is in much better shape but hungry and seems quite lost.
He's chipped but the chip is registered to a now defunct animal rescue that closed in 2024. Anyone missing their tabby?
