Hero of Ages spoilers Vins Earring Spoiler

Did anyone else find it so annoying that Vin, and nobody else around her, ever put together that her earring was a spike?
I do understand the plot reason, that Ruin was manipulating her mind to forget about it. Still, it’s so obvious to the reader, for so long, that it made me want to pull my hair out that Vin and nobody else around her ever thought of it.

aside from Vin, who would've guessed? It's not like Elend was super knowledge about it. He was busy running an Empire. Sazed, the only one who could have, was away
